“What do you mean don’t remember?” the blond asked, “That was one of our favorite vacations!”
“I’m sorry, but I just don’t remember that. I don’t remember anything!” I’ve started to raise my voice, only because he did, and I don’t know why, but my hands were heating up like they were put over a very large fire. The blond seems to notice this, and tried to calm me down.
“It’s alright, Kaida. We’ll be alright. No need to go all Elemental on me.” At that moment, the guard in red comes running into the compartment.
“Sir, I think we know what’s going on,” the guard says, “We think it’s Merkenwater.”
“Well that would make sense, figuring she forgot our honeymoon.” the blond replies. Now that my ‘secret’s’ out that I don’t know who anyone is or remember anything other than this morning, I can finally ask questions.
“Honeymoon?”
“Yes, dear. Merkenwater knocks out your memory of every experience. It lets you keep the part of your brain that keeps your body moving, breathing, working, but lets the memories go. Obviously, you can still talk, and do the basic movements, but you forgot your kingdom, family, powers, and most of all, me,” the blond replied, which wasn’t really an answer, but it explained a lot, “Also, Merkenwater takes 24 hours to work, so when the food and drink tester sipped your drink, he wasn’t affected right away, so you were able to drink the poison. And yes, honeymoon. I’m your husband. King of the Southern Nation.”

We kept talking about me, my kingdom, my forgotten magic, and basically everything. I’m the Queen of the Southern Nation, along with Forrest, King of the East, who is of the Nature Element. There’s Ailín, King of the North, who is of the Earth Element. Also Queen Tadewi, of the West, who is of the Wind and Light Elements. Then there is Queen Pavati, of the Ocean, who, obviously, has the Water Element. And last of all, me. I’m the Queen of the South, with the Fire Element. I'm the youngest, being 21, and the next being Tadewi, being 28, then Pavati, 32, and Forrest and Ailín are both in their late thirties. They couldn’t teach me how to control my Element, though. That would be best taught by another Elemental. My family story is that I’m an only child, and my mom got sick and died soon after I was born, and my dad, the Elemental and king before me, taught me to control my powers, and all the duties and responsibilities of being Queen. He died just before I turned 16, which left the kingdom to me. I, being 16, could not legally rule a country, so, for 5 years, we were ruled by my Aunt, Pavati. I was always included in legal discussions and everything, but I wasn’t the ruler. Before my 19th birthday, I met Noah, my now husband.
