Your parents have been pestering you to tell them about your new "job". You always told them; another time. It was a simple answer. You would have just lied, but you were terrible at it. Any sign of lying, you expressed.
When you asked to Doctor to help teach you how to lie, he asked you to bring them along on a trip. You hated this idea. They'd be happy at first, but once they realize you were going on all the dangerous adventures with an alien they hardly knew they'd freak out, and make you move back to their house. However the Doctor reassured you it was a one time thing and it would be somewhere safe.
By the time you all got to the T.A.R.D.I.S they were suspicious. Asking why on earth you'd bring them to some old police box, on the middle of the sidewalk.
Once the Doctor got the door open everything changed.
"What is this place!?"
"It's bigger on the inside!"
"Welcome aboard the T.A.R.D.I.S! Please don't touch anything! You may accidentally send us back into the 50s! Which I wouldn't mind, but I already planned on going to moon today"
