Dib X Astraphobic reader

(Y/N) POV
"Mom are you kidding me?" Mother turns to look at me "yes professor Membrane needs my assistance on his up coming project." "Mom you do know that town is very well known for dark weather, can't I just stay home?" Mother huffed "(Y/N) you know I won't let you stay home alone again, after last time." She gave me a small glare and I smiled sheepishly. "I said I was sorry and I did fix my mess after." Slumping my shoulders "when do we leave?" "7:30 tomorrow morning" I jumped in surprise "what?! I got to get packed." I rushed upstairs to my cluttered room and started packing.

I sighed in relief my bags where finally packed mom said we'd be staying around a week. I got plenty of cloths and things to do while moms helping the professor. I stretched up from the ground listening to my bones pop and crack. I yawned and stalked to my bed "man I should get some sleep before the trip tomorrow." Glancing at the clock I saw it was 10:32, grabbing at the clock and set my alarm to 6:45. Laying my head on the pillow my eyes closing and drifting into sleep.

Shooting up from the wild crack, I glanced to the window and saw the raindrops slid down the glass I whimpered and brought my legs to my chest. I tried to doze of again but was jolted again because a loud crashing. "Dame thunder." I mumbled I reached over and quickly connected my headphones to my phone and and slipped them on. I turned my volume up louder than it should be trying to block out the deafening sounds. Tears escaping my eyes slightly. Sleep soon taking me.

I woke to my mom shaking me, "morning sleepyhead, I figured you'd have your headphones on, that storm was a wild one. How you feeling after it?" I just shrugged, my head was pounding "I didn't really get much sleep last night. What time is it anyway?" "Its 7 but take your time getting ready I don't want you hurting your head more. She walked out the door closing it softly. I sighed and got up getting comfortable clothing for the long ride and headed for the shower.

Grabbing my luggage and basically throwing them down the stairs I headed for the front door. "Mom I'm ready, I'm going to sit in the car." I headed for the car throwing everything in the trunk and sitting in the back. I looked out the car window at the house to see one last thing my mom closing the door and my eyes shut driving me into sweet darkness. 
I awoke to the car drifting into a drive way I realized it was the membrane household, did I really sleep the entire trip. I opened the door and grabbed all my bags my mom looked at me "ready honey? It'll only be a week and the we can go back home." I hummed in response and walked next to her. She knocked on front door and it swung open to reveal Gaz. I gave a small wave and she just walked away leaving us. Mom stepped in and set her stuff down and walked to the door labeled "Lab" I shrugged and closed the door behind me and set my stuff down as well. I gave the room a quick look around and settled on the couch waiting for any living being to enter.
I heard a door open and close I looked behind me and saw Dib, he had grown a lot from the last time I saw him.
I gave a small wave but he didn't wave back he glared at me and charged. He jumped over the couch and tackled me to the ground. "Ow what the actual fuck Dib." "Who are you, who sent you, why are you here?!?!!" He just kept talking nonsense, I got sick of it and kicked him in his gut and took the opportunity to flip us over so I was on top and held him down "Dib calm your shit and listen to me. I'm (Y/N) don't you remember?" His body was tense but when I said my name his body relaxed, I let him go and got up. "Well" it seem like he was deep in thought. I waved my hand in front of his face only to be tackled again, but this time tackled into a hug. "Yea, it's good t see you too Dib." I pat his back awkwardly. He let go and looked at me "Oh my god (Y/N) I'm sorry I thought you where Zim the alien in disguise. I haven't seen you in forever!" I smiled and rubbed my neck sheepishly "yea I know but, now you get to deal with me for a whole week!" Dibs eyes widened "a whole week?" I nodded and smiled brightly. "But Dib who is Zim, you said alien?" His eyes brighten at the question and hopped up and grabbed my hand rushing me to his room. I looked around his room and saw all the paranormal stuff hanging from his walls "I guess your interest never changed huh?"  He ignored me and started firing up his laptop I rolled my eyes, it was going to be a long night.

"Dib I'm not very sure, I mean the mail man might have a bunch of hair but that doesn't make him a werewolf." " (Y/N) you don't understand I've seen things that can't even be explained."
"Mhmm sure." I teased. I yawned and stretched, "what time is it Dib?"
"It's 3:29."  "Dang it's pretty late, do you know what room I'll be staying in?"   "I guess I never thought of it." I shrugged and got up, I'll just go find my bag and sleep in here." I smiled and winked at Dib while walking out the door.
As I was walking around the house I finally found my bag outside a door and opened the door to find my mom sprayed across two beds pushed together.  I rolled my eyes and grabbed PJS, and changed quickly. I throw my dirty cloths into a bag and walk back to Dibs room he was still sitting at his desk in his laptop. I snuck up on him and jumper cabled him scaring him. He gave off the girliest scream and fell off his chair. "Pfft Dib calm down it's just me." I reached my hand down for him to take and helped him up, "I found the room I'm staying in but my mom has decided to take both beds, don't ask me how I just know she did. So I guess I will be sleeping in here. If that's ok with you?" He thinks about it "ok I guess" but before he was done speaking I was already getting under his blankets "night Dib, make sure you get some sleep tonight." He made a hum as he refocused on his laptop. Before closing my eyes I looked out the windows to see dark clouds forming.

I whipped up from the bed and looked out the to see flashes of lighting, and the loud clashes of thunder. I quickly covered my ears as another strike of thunder struck shaking the house slightly. I look over to Dib to see him passed out at his desk I glanced at the clock and say it was only 5:16. I uncovered my ears and got up from the bed and poked Dib. "Dib, wake up." I whispered I kept poking his face and he swatted my hand away like a fly. "Dame it Dib wake up." I poked him again and he groaned. "Dib, Dib, Dib, wake upppp." I saw his eyes flutter open "what? What is it (Y/N)?" "Dib you remember when we where young I was scared of thunder and lightning, well it never changed and I'm scared." I looked down at my feet feeling bad. Before he could say anything thunder cracked and I yelped turning my body towards the window. Dib jumped from his chair and hugged me turning me away from the window. I started shaking "it's ok (Y/N), I won't let anything happen." He grabbed my hand and led me back to the bed "lay back down, don't worry I'll be right here for you. Laying down as dib laid down next to me, I huddled close to him shaking like a leaf. Thunder went off again and I yelped and cuddled closer to Dib terrified "it's ok (Y/N) I won't let anything get you, even the werewolf mailman." I giggled at his attempt to make things better. "Thank you Dib." I slowly felt myself drift off again, I relaxed and buried my head in dibs chest before drifting off I mumbled a two words "night Dib."
