Eighteen

-Keith-

I watch as Nat paces across the red lion's cockpit, her hands not knowing where to go.

"What do you mean you need to figure something out?" I ask

"Pidge's brother. I ran into him while I was with Lotor." She says

"Nat..." I start

"Keith? Nat?" Shiro asks as he walks in "You two in here?"

"Over here, Shiro," Nat says

I look over and see the white tips as he comes into view, crossing his arms, looking at us.

"Everything okay?" Shiro asks

"As good as anything could be," Nat replies

She looks over at me, giving me we'll-finish-this-talk-later look. I quickly nod before look at Shiro as he looks between us before nodding.

"Allura wants us down there again. Something about how they might have found a way to disable the tracker in a safe way." Shiro says

Nat looks between us before nodding and walking out of the cockpit. I follow shortly behind her, Shiro giving me a look.

"Something about Matt," I say

"What about him?" He asks

"I don't know." I reply "She didn't get to finish."

He nods before looking at her as we walk towards the center of the village.

"I do want you to know, they want us to try and keep an eye on her. They have heard many things and the last time she was here, she was there to steal." Shiro says

"I understand that. But they are going to have to learn to trust her." I start "How are they going to learn how to if they want us to constantly keep an eye on her or be with her?"

"I don't know. But with how she is, she will probably want to go to the castle soon." He says

I nod before catching her eye as she looks back at us before stepping next to Lance, looking at Ryner as she walks over the group of us.

"We think that we might have found a way to destroy it safely, but it's going to take a little bit of time." She says

"Ryner, we might not have that time," Allura says

"I understand that you guys are close to being able to destroy Zarkon, and we will help any way we can but if you want our help with this, you need to trust us," Ryner says

"If you guys need to go, I can stay back. Purple isn't needed to form Voltron." Nat starts "Only if Ryner and them are okay with me staying here."

I look between them before stepping next to her.

"Allura, I think we can spare a few days. We still need to finalize the plan with the rebels." I say "Matt has been trying to plan a meeting with the blade and they are just now able to do it."

"So we have to be ready for a video call any moment?" Shiro asks

"Wait, did you say Matt?" She asks

"Yeah. We found him shortly after we had our first run-in." I say, watching as her body goes tense

I set my hand on her shoulder before she slightly leans into it.

"Alright, we are going to try and figure out how to get this destroyed," Ryner says

"Thanks again, Ryner. We owe you so much." Shiro says "The rest of us should get back to the castle before the blade tries to call us."

I grab Nat's hand as she turns to head towards the Red lion. I feel her start to shake as she walks next to me, a white grip on my hand.

"I think you need to take a break," I whisper

"You know that I can't do that." She whispers "I am not ready to sleep."

"Nat... you can't do this to yourself again. Just because they got the jump on you doesn't mean that you are a weak girl." I whisper "You know that I will always be here. No matter the distance."

She looks at me before nodding, looking towards Red.

"You are sleeping during this meeting. I'll catch you up when you wake up." I whisper "If you need to, sleep in my room. I'm the closest to the main controls."

She looks at me before she nods.

"I'll try to sleep, after the meeting." She says "They deserve to know for themselves that I am working with you guys now."

I look at her before laughing softly.

"What if we wanted to keep that our little secret?" I ask

"Well, it looks like it's not your choice." She says

I look at her before wrapping my arm around her shoulders, pulling her into me.

I look at the screens as they start to pop up, Blades and rebels showing up. I feel Nat tense up next to me as she watches all the screens line up. I watch as a few of the rebels give her an uneasy look.

"Nat, it's good to see you again," Matt says

"Glad to see that you're back up and running," Nat says

I look at her before I listen to some of the Blade as they watch Nat with careful calculations.

"What is she doing here?"

"When did she start working with them?"

"How do we know she's not an inside spy?"

"Guys, we can hear you." Shiro starts

"We've considered every single one of those possibilities." Allura starts "She hasn't set off any of our triggers."

"How can you be so sure that she still isn't working with them?" Kolivan starts

"Kolivan, please just trust her." I start "She's helped us get the jump on a few of them before we decided to call this meeting."

I feel Nat start to relax before she tenses up again when she looks over the blade.

"Keith, I don't think I can do this..." She whispers

"Go and get some sleep. I'll be there when we're finished." I say

I pull her a bit closer before placing a soft kiss to her temple before watching her walk out of the room, heading towards my room.

"Is that relationship going to affect anything that we have planned?" Kolivan asks

"No. I still plan on joining you guys before the mission." I start "I just haven't talked to her. She hasn't been up to fighting again."

They all look at me, before nodding.

"So that makes our plans final. Going in and getting the information downloaded." Kolivan says

"Yes, we will need this information before we can plan any further," Allura says

I watch as everybody starts to agree, closing down their screens.

"Alright, I'm going to go check on Nat," I say

I turn around, heading towards the door. I look around the hallway, seeing my bedroom door slightly cracked. I smile before heading in.

I look at the bed to see Nat laying there, her dark hair being held back with a ponytail. I look at her as she holds onto one of my jackets.

I smile before walking over and shifting her to where I can lay next to her.

"You aren't going to fall to them again. Not if I have anything to say about it." I whisper, placing a kiss to the top of her head
