Chapter 5: The First Step Towards Evolution

Azure: "No one, Petals. I needed to wake you up."

Ruby: "*sigh in relief* Don't scare me like that again!"

Azure: "No promises. Come on, we need to wake up Yang."

Ruby: "I got this."

I let Ruby do whatever it is she's about to do. I realized too late that it was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. In an instant, Ruby was able to pull a strand of Yang's hair and dashed behind me with Snow hiding in her hood. Yang suddenly woke up and started attacking whatever was in her line of sight first. In this case, me. She hit me hard. Fortunately, I was somehow able to retain consciousness. After a while, Yang starts calming down.

Azure: "Petals, how could you betray me like this?"

Ruby: "*sticks out her tongue* Payback. Come on, let's go prepare for our Initiation."

Azure: "Owww..." I stand up while still groaning in pain.

We started walking towards our locker. When I arrived, I see Ren still dealing with Nora. They seem to be discussing something that involves teams, bribery, and... sloths?

Ruby: "I wonder what those two were so worked up about?"

Azure: "Something along the line of teams, bribing Ozpin about something, and sloths, apparently."

Ruby & Yang: "What?"

Azure: "Yeah, I don't get it either."

Yang: "Right... *turns to Ruby* So! You seem awfully chipper this morning."

Ruby: "Yep! No more awkward small talk or getting-to-know-you stuff. Today, I get to let my sweetheart do the talking." She rubs her cheeks against Crescent Rose with Snow mimicking her actions.

Azure: "I can understand that."

Yang: "Well, remember, Ruby. You're not the only one going through initiation. If you want to grow up, you're going to have to meet new people and learn to work together."

Ruby: "Ughhh, you sound like dad! Okay, first of all, what does meeting people have to do with fighting? And secondly, I don't neep people to help me grow up. I drink milk!"

Azure: "Strawberry milk doesn't count, Petals."

Ruby: "It totally does!"

Yang: "But, what about when we form teams?"

Ruby: "Ummm... I don't know. I'll just be on your or Azure's team or something..."

Azure: "That's fine with me. I'd feel more comfortable with someone I know."

Yang: "Maybe you should try being on someone else's team?"

Ruby: "My dearest sister, Yang. Are you implying that you do not wish to be on the same team as me!?"

Yang: "W-what? No! Of course I do, I just thought... I don't know. Maybe it would help you break out of your shell!"

Azure: "She has a point, Petals. I think we both could use a bit more socializing."

Ruby: "I don't need to break out of my shell! That's absolutely-"

Jaune: "Ridiculous! There's no way I put my gear in locker 636 yesterday! I would've remembered having to count that high! Ugh... why does this have to happen today?" I then walked to see Weiss with Pyrrha.

Weiss: "So, Pyrrha, have you given any thought to whose team you would like to be on? I'm sure everyone must be eager to unite with such a strong, well-known individual, such as yourself"
