Chapter 14

"I always wondered why she didn't speak on her mom much. She's crazy about her Mrs.Deb though. We can pick something out while we're here I have to pick us up outfits for the reveal as well. I already know what I want us to wear though so it won't be long." I said parking the car and then getting out to go open Mrs. Debs door.

"You are such a gentlemen. My baby finally got her a good young man on her hands. By the way you can call me grandma." She said.

"Okay then grandma. Let's go." I said allowing her to make her way to the entrance before me then I locked the car door.

We went inside and walked to ABC jewelers. It seems like it took me forever to pick out the perfect piece but it had to be just right. I came across a 24k gold necklace that said I LOVE YOU inside of a heart. It was beautiful just like Lay. "What you think about this grandma?" I asked Mrs. Deb pointing to the necklace.

"That is beautiful. My opinion doesn't matter though baby. You get what you feel is right in your heart." She said. Then I decided this was the one I paid $500 for it and left.

"I just need to grab our all white shoes from finishing line grandma and then our outfits." I said walking into finish line asking a worked for two pairs of all white ones size 5 and a half in kids for Lay and size 11 for me. Lay has tiny feet which was why I never had a problem buying her shoes. They were always dirt cheap. I left finish line with our bags and then went into polo looking for an all blue polo for me and a pink shirt or dress for Lay. I ended up finishing a light pink dress with a white collar on it. I knew my baby would look good in it with her little baby bump. "You need anything grandma?" I asked.

"No baby I'm good. I'm team boy so I'll pull something out of my closet." She said as we made our way back to the car. I could tell I was gonna love Mrs. Deb. She seemed so laid back and sweet but extra straightforward if she needed to be.

"Thank you for all your help." I said as I opened Mrs. Debs's door for her to get out. "I'm gonna have my people go set up at the clubhouse. Remember to tell everybody the reveal is at Oakhill Clubhouse starting at 3:30." I reminded her after giving her a hug then got back in the car to make some phone calls for the last minute decorators and caterers.

I made it to the barbershop and paid $100 to get next in the chair. I still had a few hours before I needed to be at the clubhouse but I still wanted to get done with everything else early. I got my sister picking the cake up. Maya was about to meet me at The caterers will be there at 3 and the decorators are already there getting shit together.

*buzz* buzz* *buzz* *buzz* my phone rang with a call from Lay.

"Hey baby girl what's up?" I asked.

"Where you at? You been gone all morning." She said before I could get another word out.

"Hi to you too. I told you I had to get my hair cut and now I'm headed to my moms. She needed help with some stuff around the house. You just make sure you looking fine for dinner later. Maya said she wanted to match with you today so she went and got y'all something to wear." I lied. I grabbed Maya a light pink polo earlier because she was team girl.

"I'm sorry baby I just woke up and you weren't here. I miss you so much! I can't wait to see you later." She said. "Tell your mom hi for me. love you check your text when you stop." She said and then hung up.

I pulled up to my moms crib getting ready to go in so I could shower and get dressed. I still hadn't told her that Lay was pregnant. I wanted to surprise her so she wouldn't find out until we were at the reveal. I quickly checked my text like Lay asked me to. It was a picture of her and my son that said "your babies 😍🥰"
