The room was dark, save for the glow of the fire from the old brick fireplace in the north wall. There was dusty antique furniture in the room. It was apparent that this room had not been entered for some time. Aside from the dust, the room was clean. In front of the fireplace, there was an old man in a rocking chair, wrapped in a blanket. He was staring at the fire and he seemed lost inside it.

You could see the sparkle in the old man's eyes as he stared at the fire. He was lost in his own world, and seemed to be at peace. On the eastern wall of the room was a big picture mirror that was immaculately clean. The heavy frame of the mirror was a Victorian Gothic design, and was gold in color. The mirror pictured everything in the room perfectly. It was quite a sight to see. The mirror seemed to shine.

The old man suddenly sat up. He had a fire in his eyes that seemed to come from within. The old man lifted his arm up, and pointed the at the fire, and then pointed at the mirror. As if a man possessed, he shouted "Well, it is time to go, I will see you later!". He the wrapped the blanket around himself, and ran towards the mirror. He ran as fast as he could, blanket and all, and once he reached the mirror, he jumped right into it. The mirror made a tinkling sound as he entered , not unlike the sound of electrical sparks.

Looking out over the room and at the mirror, you could see was the old man, staring out from inside of the mirror. He was looking out from mirror at the big empty room. The the fire place glowed and crackled, and the mirror tinkled again, and there was nobody in the mirror.
