We walked slowly back towards the patio and the older guys started whistling at us

"That was some kiss kiddies" a guy chuckled wiggling his eyebrows

"Shut up" Isla slurred at him

She stumbled slightly and I wrapped an arm round her waist to keep her steady

"Ohhh feisty little girl" the guy smirked, "am I right guys?"

His friends around him started laughing and agreeing with him and I felt Isla tense beside me.

"Isla don't-" I started but it was too late

She ripped away from my grasp and lunged at at the guy who spoke.

"No Isla" I grunted reaching out to grab her waist

"Get off me Ruel" she growled

"Not until you calm down" I said

"Ohh she thinks she's so tough too" the guy laughed

Isla struggled even harder

"Calm down Dove" I shouted

Isla stopped and turned to me

"What'd you call me?" She asked

"Dove" I answered

"Why" she muttered

"Because it means peace and I thought a name that resembles that would calm you down" I explained

"How cute they have nicknames for each other" the guy laughed

Isla growled and looked at me

"You get one punch" I muttered

She smiled and turned back to the guy who was still laughing. She swung her fist and it connected hard with his jaw. There was a crack and he slumped back in the chair he was in. There was silence before his friends crowded around him

"He's unconcious"

"She knocked him out"

"She's not getting away with it"

I grabbed Isla's hand and dragged her inside picking up a bottle of water on the way through the kitchen. When we got to the car Isla was pissing herself with laughter

"You have a punch on you girl" I said surprised

"I've been boxing and stuff since a child" she answered still laughing, "to blow off steam when I got angry"

"Right okay, remind me not to make you mad" I said starting the car

"Uh I'm already slightly mad at you for keeping that secret" she said matter of factly

"But didn't you say we were all good" I asked confused

"Do i see any food in front of me" Isla giggled

"So I guess i have to wait until tomorrow for forgiveness" I sighed

"And a few meals after that" she said

"That's fair I guess" I nodded

"now shut up, I'm going to sleep" Isla muttered leaning her head on the window

"Okay dove" I chuckled

When I got to the gate at Isla's house, it was around midnight. I didn't want to wake Isla up to tell me the code so I buzzed in.

"Hello" a tired voice said through the intercom

"Uhh Miss Lethering it's Ruel, Sorry to wake you" i said, "Isla's asleep and I don't want to wake her for the code"

"I'll buzz you in" she yawned

The com went dead and the gate began to open. I dashed back to the car and I drove into the driveway. I unbuckled Isla and picked her up bridal style before carrying her to the front door where her mom was waiting.

"Is she drunk?" Her mom asked

"Very" i chuckled quietly

I looked down at Isla

"She's a very calm drunk" I said, "when she's not angry at least"

"Oh dear" Anna whined, "she got angry?"

"Rightly so, a guy was being a complete douche" I answered

Anna nodded

"Well you know where her room is, just drop her on her bed" she said

"Okay" I said

I walked up the stairs and to Isla's room tucking her under her duvet

"Goodnight dove" I muttered and kissed the top of her head

"I'll see you tomorrow Miss Lethering" I said opening the front door

"Please, call me Anna" she insisted, "and why tomorrow?"

"I owe Isla lunch, well a few lunches actually, to make up for something I didn't tell her" I explained

"Ahh, you finally told her you're a singer" Anna smirked

My mouth dropped open

"H-how" I stuttered

She flicked her finger across her nose and pushed me out the door

"A mother never reveals her secrets" she chuckled
