"Wait does she know now?" Jay asked

"I think you need to get yourself some new friends if he's exposing you like that pretty boy" I chuckled

Ruel glared at me playfully

"You're lucky she knows man" Ruel said to Jay

"Was that the blackmail you were talking about when you went to the party last week?" I asked Ruel

"Yeah" he nodded in reply

"You definitely deserved it" i scoffed

"Ay man why'd it take you two weeks to bring this one round" Jay laughed

"I'm starting to regret it" Ruel muttered

"You are" I said raising an eyebrow, "well then I guess I'll go play some beer pong with Jay then"

I walked away from Ruel's side and pulled Jay's arm

"Let's go have some without the giraffe shall we" I smiled

"Yes ma'am" Jay smirked leading me to the beer pong table

I turned and stuck my tongue out at Ruel and he just laughed

 Ruel's pov

It had been about two hours since I'd seen Isla so I decided to go and look for her.

"Hey Jay" I said walking up to him, "have you seen Isla?"

"No sorry man" he slurred, "she disappeared after beer pong"

I nodded and started to look round the house. When I looked out the kitchen window, I saw a silhouette swinging on a hanging chair. I pushed my way through the people getting stopped by a few girls on the way. I finally got outside and was hit by the smell of smoke from a few older sitting on chairs on the patio. I ignored them and headed to the figure further back in the garden.

"Isla?" I questioned

She turned to me

"What are you doing out here?" I asked

It got a bit too much in there" She slurred

"You're drunk" I stated with a smile

"Very" she chuckled

I sat on the chair next to her, my arm brushing against hers.

"You're freezing" I exclaimed

"It's just a little chilly" she said waving off my concern

I slipped off my jeans jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders

"Ruel I'm fine" she protested

"No, keep it on" I said firmly

"Thank you" she muttered and snuggled into it

We sat in a comfortable silence for a while before Isla tucked her legs underneath her and turned to me

"I wanna try something" she whispered

I nodded

"Go ahead" I muttered

Her face was now insanely close to mine and I could smell the alcohol in her breath. The next thing I knew her lips were on mine. My hands immediately went to cup her cheeks as I kissed back. I was about to pull her onto my lap to deepen the kiss when I remembered she was drunk.

"You're drunk" I whispered pulling away

She nodded before sinking back into her previous position. We sat in a silence again for a while, me thinking about what just happened.

'Well that definitely confirmed my feelings for her' I thought to myself

'Yes but she won't ever like you back' another voice in my head countered

'You don't know that' I fought back

'Yes I do, why would she want you. You lied to her, kept a big secret' it hissed

"What are you thinking about?" Isla's voice brought me out of my thoughts

"Huh" I hummed

"I can see your brain working" she chuckled poking my forehead

I laughed and swatted her finger away

"You're a very calm drunk you know" I informed her

"Well tell that to me when I'm sober" she said, "I won't remember tomorrow"

"You're first time being drunk?" I asked

She nodded in reply

"Let's get you some water then" I said standing up, "it'll help with the hangover tomorrow"

"Okay" she said standing up
