"Roy, I've been meaning to ask", Akaashi suddenly said, shaking Roy out of his thoughts. The other stared at him for a second before relaxing. "How's the investigation coming along?"

"Oh... yeah I guess I haven't talked about it much" Roy sat up straight in his chair, taking his legs off of the table. He let out a prolonged sigh, Akaashi had to look away to hide his smirk - it's not like he could just start laughing when Roy was about to get into a serious topic. "It's... complicated"

"How so?" Akaashi wondered.

"We're not sure what to do with a criminal profile we have. They've been somewhat dormant, but..." Roy trailed off, his eyes fell on the folder in Akaashi's hands, one that he had been clutching since coming into his office. Not that Roy minded much, he could understand why Akaashi was here - Bokuto accidently butt-dialed him and Akaashi rushed to him.

So now, while Bokuto was working, Akaashi had decided to visit his good friend. Also... he needed to get more information on the case. What is going on? How far are they? Now that Daichi is stationed here, what has he found? Daichi is extremely observant, so Akaashi had been very careful.

Though lately... he's been getting antsy. Ever since he dragged that body of a young man into the forest, he's been anticipating new victims. Unfortunately, things were harder than they seemed to be. Bokuto has been getting the hang of Akaashi's schedule, so he kept on inviting Akaashi somewhere. Roy has been calling him. Daichi has been calling him. Overall, he was distracted.

"So, what about that profile?" Akaashi asked, watching as a puzzled look came onto Roy's face.

"Well, I told you before what we think, but the more I look into these crimes the less I trust that criminal profile. All victims are of Asian descent, so I am still holding onto a hate crime theory, however..." Roy began talking as he stood up, walking towards his whiteboard where he had pictures attached and lines connecting them all.

"However?" Akaashi followed him.

"Look at all of these victims. Most of them are men. I'm beginning to suspect that that one murder of the woman in the alleyway was accidental or a copycat crime. So many of these could be copycat crimes! It all started with men... so does X has a disdain for men? Homophobic maybe?" Roy rubbed his temples before turning to Akaashi. "What do you think?"

"Hmm... It's hard to tell. I'm..." Akaashi's mind began crafting a protection plan, though, that could endanger him. "I'm scared for Bokuto."

"Bokuto is really strong, he can protect you and himself - though, I do feel you" Roy sighed loudly. "Do you want me to assign a guard for you?"

"No need... Maybe just have a police officer drive Bokuto home." Akaashi said, it would be for the best. He knew damn well Bokuto was the most protected from X, if anything Akaashi was willing to go on a rampage for him - however, he wanted Bokuto to never find out about who he is. Who he truly is. To think that this all started with an accidental murder in that bathroom...

A sudden commotion woke the two of them out of their thoughts. As Roy and Akaashi rushed to the main hall, they were greeted with a sight of two erratic young men, they were saying many things at one time, and the police officer had a hard time following them. It seemed like Daichi who had come back from his patrol was also having a hard time.

"What's going on in here?" Roy asked as the two of them approached the erratic men. Daichi turn to them, feeling some relief to see familiar faces finally approaching him. From the way the two guys were acting, Akaashi could see that they were nervous and angry about something, their hands were shaking and they were sweating - something interesting is happening.

"Oh, please help us!" The shorter one exclaimed as Roy and Akaashi finally stopped in front of them.

"What's going on?" Roy asked, trying to calm them down, but to no avail, they just began screaming over each other, the jumble of words became more and more incomprehensible by the second. "Slow down..." Roy tried again, but the two kept going at it.

Akaashi placed his hand on Roy's shoulder, stepping in front of him and giving him a reassuring smile. As he turned to the guys, it felt like a gust of cold air suddenly came into the building. The two of them stopped and stared at Akaashi, his stonecold expression was enough to shut the two of them up.

"One at a time..." Akaashi said, quietly. Finally, the taller one took charge and cleared his throat.

"Sorry for that..." He sighed. "I'm Tanaka Ryuunosuke, I've been here before..."

"Oh... wait I remember you" Roy chimed in. "Your sister... was the victim of X..."

"Yeah... the thing is, our friend went missing a couple of days back. We reported him missing, but we just have a really bad feeling about this. He's not the type to go missing, he hates being out too much, he was already grieving too! He's a soft soul and we just..." Tanaka trailed off, letting everyone in the hall finish his words in their heads.

"You think X might have something to do with this?" Roy asked and watched in horror as the two of them nodded. "Do you want me to assign a guard for you? X could be targeting you too"

"No, we're fine. We're strong so we can protect ourselves, but we just wanted to report this. I know we are making assumptions, but please..." Tanaka sighed, he really did seem to be grieve stricken.

Although, it was his own mistake for refusing a guard.

"Okay, we will take this into consideration and start treating your friends' disappearance like an X case. Don't worry" Roy tried to reassure them, following up his words with some contacts the two of them can call in order to help collect information about X. Akaashi, on the other hand, was eyeing the two.

Weren't they just... perfect? Perfect to be his next victims? It's been a while since he had done anything slowly, his palms were itching, his knife was just there - unused. So... he should take the chance while he can. If they think X is targeting them, then so be it. Let it be the truth.

As Akaashi watched them leave the building, his bloodlust building up to amounts unreasonable, he felt a hand on his back. As if in shock, Akaashi turned around, only to be met by a pair of big golden eyes staring at him. His bloodlust immediatelly went down as a smile crept on his face.

"Do you want to get some steamed buns later?" Bokuto asked as he smiled at his boyfriend.

"I would love to" Akaashi returned the warm feelings, placing a quick kiss on Bokuto's cheek.

"Only a kiss on a cheek?" Bokuto looked at him with puppy eyes. Oh, how could Akaashi resist them? But he must hold on.

"Bokuto... if I start kissing you here, I won't be able to stop. Let's leave that for when we go home" Akaashi winked at him, a warm feeling inside of his was enough to keep him here in the station and not running after the two guys. Though... they have it coming sooner or later.
