Warning! Wow never had to do one but let's just in case. Mentions physical abuse, death, mental health & mental and emotional abuse

Imagine...

In the state of Massachusetts stands the ruins of Briarcliff Manor, Manor is a bit of a joke, from the day Briarcliff opened its doors it was a building of death. Now nobody wants to be bored with the history of the tuberculosis ward, how mind numbing would that be when we all know that Briarcliff has a far far more interesting past. In 1962 the church purchased the large gravestone building and converted it into a hospital. A hospital for the criminally insane and mentaly ill, though no caring took place. There were daily punishments of electrotherapy, hydrotherapy and anything else they could label therapy. It’s said people went mad from the spinning of a record that never changed its tune Dominique, nique, nique S'en allait tout simplement, Routier, pauvre et chantant…

In 1971 Briarcliff closed its doors for good but by then the state had already bought the property to use as a dumping ground for anyone and everyone. Nobody really knows how many people died there as by the time the building was shut down the filing system (if there ever was one) now littered the floor. Notes of ‘treatment’ and the admission statements for multiple patients merged into one pile of rubbish. Some stories from the survivors of Briarcliff have made headlines in recent years but nobody can tell if they are the truth.

Kit Walker (Bloody face suspect) was a resident of the hospital back in the 60’s. While nobody knows where he is today. From the day of his release up until the day of his disappearance Mr Walker insisted He was not alone when he arrived at Briarcliff. Mr Walker states a Miss Y/N L/N was also incorrectly admitted to the ward due to her belief that He did not commit the crimes. Through records we have managed to discover a Miss Y/N L/N from Boston was admitted around the time Mr Walker arrived however she died back in late ‘64. Mr Walker never believed his friends death due to alleged abuse that she suffered around this time. While a death certificate was found authenticated by the asylums own Doctor Dr. Arthur Arden no evidence was ever found to confirm this.

Many stories took place in the horrific hospital, not all of them got told. In the Chapter we will investigate the disappearance of Y/N L/N.

Y/N L/N was a 21 years old florist from Boston, Massachusetts, She came from a large Irish Immigrant family. Miss L/N never showed signs of metal delusions and was known to be beautiful and kind. When she was originally placed in Briarcliff Her family claimed she’d taken a job in another state that had better prospects for her. It wasn’t until mid 1963 that the truth surfaced. Due to this the L/N family moved away. Her first couple of months in Briarcliff where relatively quiet, it seemed she had got lost in the system. She would have probably had a very sheltered existence like other patients. The Manor in this time ran a bakery from the large kitchens so it is suspected this would have been her role as she was a very mild threat to others. A few months before her ‘death’ Y/N L/N began seeing Court Psychiatrist Oliver Thredson and during these months is when Mr Walker insist the abuse took place. According to Kit and the other survivors of Briarcliff Y/N changed drastically and became more clumsy. It became a regular occurrence for her to be bruised and cut, however her hospital notes we managed to recover seemed to believe the excuses she made. Therefore it was not investigated and I must remind you that caring was not the point of Briarcliff. During these months Miss Y/N seemed to stop speaking at all. To the point it's believed she became the Briarcliff ghost that many of the more deluded inmates would chant about.

On the 13th of October 1964 a patient is suspected to have died by self-inflicted wounds, however the face was so unrecognisable it's more likely to be anyone. The last known sighting of Miss L/N was the 11th when she had a session with Thredson. Thredson claimed that the patient seemed normal and had no panic episodes during their last session, the court Physiatrist was already under suspicion by then as other patients he was treating had also gone missing or died. However Briarcliffe was so closed off to the outside world nobody ever noticed let alone questioned where the missing people went. Oliver Thredson had got another permanent job at a different asylum in Vermont when her body was discovered.. Her case became forgotten and she was just another patient number on their books, it was not until Mr Walker was released due to a lack of solid evidence against him that Miss L/N death reared its ugly head after months of silence. Mr Walker in an interview recalls the fact “One morning she was gone. No explanation, no warning, nothing.” No body was ever found so there is no evidence. No one seemed to miss her. So what happened to this poor girl? Will anybody ever know?

Now it's time for me to be honest. Y/N L/N did die that day. Oh don’t worry she’s still alive… if you could call it living. My name is Y/N Thredson. I’m lucky to have Oliver. He saved me, no one else would ever love me. I don’t need anyone but Oliver. Mr Walker was a bad man, he got in the way. Oliver gave me a reason to live, he loves me. Sometimes i was bad so I needed to learn.
