"You shouldn't have said that."
My eyes landed at the rearview mirror. Yvo's soft eyes locked on mine increased the guilt I am feeling towards my friends.
"You heard us?"
"Yes."
"How many did you hear?"
"All of it."
I looked away. "I don't want to talk about it," I said with authority.
"I won't."
I mentally sighed when Yvo understands me. True to his words, the drive to Crystal High was quiet. Letting me think things through and reflect on my sins and mistakes that I have made.
I know that I should have not said it, a part of me was telling me that I should stop and control my voice. That I should apply my own rule: think before you speak. But another part of me said that I should tell Lucy because if I did not tell her about how I feel, it would make me look like a plastic girl.
A scheming bitch.
I sighed heavily. Now I wanted Yvo to ask me about how I feel when Lucy and I had that pathetic quarrel.
But he was quiet during the whole ride, even when the car was out of the estate and we reached the main road, he didn't even spoken a single word. He just continued driving and respected my decision.
Though I was sighing multiple times, signalling him to talk to me, he didn't bothered to ask. Sumimangot ako. Sometimes, him being too gentleman makes me want to just slap his arm real hard.
"Are you not going to put some disguise? You're an international model, students or teachers might create a horde of crazy fans and jump at you," he curiously asked.
That question was not the one I was waiting for!
I smiled bitterly. "I'm a Gonzales, Yvo. A Gonzales never tasted idolization nor respect towards the people of Crystal High. They can only give wrath and loathe towards us."
Saglit siyang natahimik bago nagsalita. "Hmm . . . "
"Why?"
"I was just worried about the girls."
Right.
"Maybe give them some props that can help them hide their own identity."
He nodded. "I will. I just had the perfect idea for covering their high-profile status. It's really a hard task having to take care of well-known, first-rate international models," I chuckled at that remark.
"It's not like we always had it easy, Yvo. Being famous is also a difficult task and role to take, you know. It has its own pros and cons."
He smiled. "Right."
I smiled. "Why don't you try modelling? You have the looks and the bod, why not give it a try?"
"Then that would make everything worse."
I was confused, but his smile turned into a smirk. "You'd be jealous if I was partnered with someone, I don't want that."
My eyebrows perked up to his cockiness. "Oh really?"
"Yes."
I was about to retort back when the limo passed amid the massive gate. I didn't realised that we were so close to reaching the school, if I wasn't looking right through the windshield I wouldn't notice.
