"Thanks for inviting me over, it was really nice to get out of the house" I said with a grin. "No problem, it was really nice to have someone believe me for once" Dib replied with a huge smile on his face. I checked the clock in his kitchen and noticed the time, 8:23pm. "I really should go, my mom will be making dinner by now, and she gets upset when we come home too late" I said with a sigh. "I really did have a great time though" I added with a smile. "I understand, I had a great time too! We should hang out more often" Dib replied. "I definitely agree" I said as we made our way to Dib's door. I gave him a quick wave goodbye and set off for home. The sun had set completely, and the city was now dark, besides the light pollution giving the sky an eerie glow. Your part of town was quiet, being a few miles outside of the city you didn't have to worry about all the noise. Unfortunately that also meant a creepy silence as you made your way home. It was chilly at night, the cool air gave you goosebumps. You crossed your arms and quickened your pace as you made your way home. As you were walking you felt the hair on the back of your neck stand up. You felt like someone was watching you. You quickly spun around, only to be greeted by an empty street. I'm going crazy apparently you thought to yourself as you shook the feeling off of you. You once again started home. You felt the same dreaded feeling in the pit of your stomach again, except this time you just quickened your pace. Walking faster and faster until you were slow jogging. You were completely out of breath by the time you made it home.

You walked up the front steps, and into the kitchen. Your mother had already set the table, and was serving food as you sat down. "Are you alright hun? Your face is beat red" your mother said, her brows furrowed in concern. "Yeah I just ran back because I wasn't keeping track of time" you said between breaths. "Did you make a new friend?" She asked, a light smile playing on her lips. "I did actually, his father is that scientist we see on TV all the time" you replied, getting ready to shove food in your mouth. "Oh that's lovely, they seem like good people" she replied as she sat down to eat. "I had a great day today too thanks for asking" Tessa said to you with disappointment. "Sorry Tess I'm still trying to catch my breath, did anything exciting happen to you today? I bet your teacher was great" you said with a hint of jealousy as you thought of Ms. Bitters. "Yeah he's great, we don't even get homework the first week!" She replied giving a squeak of glee. "Lucky you, Mr. Brown took another position so I got stuck with Ms. Bitters" you replied rolling your eyes. What you said must have surprised your mother because she choked on her food. After a few coughs she regained composure and regarded you with sad look "oh honey I'm so sorry, I've heard that woman is vile, she was there when I was young". "Vile doesn't cover it" you mumbled, playing with the food on your plate. You were considered telling her about Zim, but after giving it some thought, you figured that would be useless and decided against it.

"Dinner was delicious, thanks mom" you said clearing your plate, and placing it in the dishwasher. You made your way up to your room. Your exhaustion had finally hit you, and you fell right into your bed with an exasperated sigh. "What a day" you said to yourself out loud. You were still internally screaming at the thought of sitting next to an alien tomorrow. Before you went to sleep you grabbed your laptop from your desk. Bringing it over to the bed you sat and placed it on your lap. You opened your social media account, and curiosity getting the best of you, you searched Dib's name. His profile came up immediately, and without hesitation you clicked add friend. You then, completely out of curiosity, typed in Zim's name. Nothing came up. "Why would an alien have social media" you exclaimed letting your face fall into your palm. Suddenly your computer chimed, you read the notification displaying across the top of the screen "Dib has accepted your friend request". You smiled at his quick response. You closed your laptop and set it on the night stand. You quickly put on pajamas, and snuggled under your covers. You shuddered as your face felt a breeze from your slightly opened window. You burrowed even further under the covers, and quickly fell asleep.
