Chapter One| Ava

"Okay, it's cool Ava. This man needs a babysitter, he's chosen you. What's the worse that could happen?" I sigh ready to press the buzzer but then I quickly pull my hand back and take a deep breath. "Come on. Stop being nervous." I go for the button again but jump when I hear a voice.

"Are you done talking to yourself, Angel?" I look around in shock.

"I'm going crazy." I whisper to myself and adjust the bag on my shoulder.

"No you're not." The voice chuckles. "What's your name?" The deep voice questions.

"A-Ava Spencer." The gate doors then open. "So I'm just gonna walk in, okay?" I look up and spot a camera and give it a thumbs up and slowly walk up to the large double doors.

The door opens and I swear all the oxygen escapes my lungs.

This man is some type of Greek God. He's clad in a black suit which outlines every muscle on his body and his dark hair is in a man bun.

Wow.

"You're my daughter's babysitter. My name is Kaden, my little girl is having a nap at the moment." I shake his large hand and then he steps to the side so I can walk in.

Once he's closed the door I turn back around to face him. "I'm Ava." I nod.

"I know, Angel." He smirks.

Oh yes. Of course he does.

"Sorry." I tuck a strand of hair behind my ear and look around the modern looking home.

"You have a lovely home." I compliment and look back to see him just staring at me. "I said you have a lovely home." I repeat trying to get his attention.

"S-Sorry, thank you." He shakes his head and smiles. "I'll go and wake up my daughter, she might be a little bit grumpy because she hates being woken up from her naps." He informs and then walks up the stairs.

I just awkwardly stand by the front door not knowing what to do with myself.

A couple minutes later Kaden walks towards me with a tired looking girl in his arms.

"This is my princess, Lily. She's my everything." He grins, pinching her chubby cheeks.

"Hi Lily, I'm Ava." I smile. She looks at me and she squeals, grinning at me.

"She doesn't see a lot of women, considering it's just me and her. She probably thinks you're a princess, that's why she is so excited." Kaden tells me. I just nod and decide it is best not to ask where her mother is.

"Princess!" She yells and reaches out for me. I look at Kaden and he nods his head. I take Lily out of his arms and hold her. "Pretty." She says in admiration, whilst playing with my hair.

"You're very pretty too." I smile at her and her big brown eyes widen.

"Daddy says I'm pretty too!" She wraps her hands around my neck and cuddles me.

I can't help but be shocked by how good her vocabulary is.

"How old are you, Lily?" She holds up four fingers.

"Four." She's tiny.

"Princess, Ava is going to be looking after you when I'm not here." Kaden walks closer to us and my heart starts to race faster.

What the fuck?

"You go?" She frowns, her lips start to tremble and her eyes start to water.

"You know I have to, baby. What has daddy said about crying?" Kaden frowns and kisses her forehead.
