Undertale Time Loops Part 1 (Undertale/Multi)

Start from the beginning

It's driving Sans insane just thinking about it.

He rubbed his forehead with his palm, focusing on the magic coursing through his hand to calm himself.

Before Sans, it was Frisk who remembered. They remembered every time they resetted the timeline, and then make different choices to see what happens. Theoretically. Since Sans didn't actually remember back then. It wouldn't make sense otherwise, if Frisk consciously made the exact same decisions.

Now Sans remembers, and Frisk doesn't. Frisk is stuck in the loop like everyone else, albiet with memories of past runs before Sans remembered.

So if Frisk is no longer in control, who was causing the resets?

It wasn't Sans, since he wanted to actually stay on the Surface. If he had the power to reset he would make sure to never use it for the rest of his life. It would finally give way to their permanent freedom and he can have...hope.

But no. Sans can't control it. So who...?

And if no one was in control and this was happening naturally...

Dread filled his bones. Does that mean this will never end?

Loop 5

Papyrus pounded on his door. "SANS! Wake up you lazy bones, we have to look out for humans!"

Sans didn't answer unlike the previous runs, he just buried his face on the pillow without a word. After a few more seconds of pounding, it stopped. Sans almost fell asleep from the silence when the door fell to the floor with extreme force, causing him to jump awake in his surprise.

"Papyrus-"

But his brother bulldozed over his mumbled protest and picked him up from his bed, an annoyed look on his face. Papyrus had no trouble picking him up like a child or a stuffed toy, considering that the younger of the two shot up like a weed after puberty while Sans remained his child-sized self. Papyrus is just cool like that. "Sans, you are late! We're supposed to leave ten minutes ago! What if a human passed through and we missed it?!"

He suddenly paused and looked closer, his annoyed expression softening to a concerned look. ".... Sans? Is something the matter?"

"..." Sans grinned, the white dots that served as his irises appearing back in his sockets. It felt too easy to wipe traces of negative emotion from his face. "It's nothing Paps. Just some weird dream."

"Are you sure, brother?" He seated Sans on the bed. "I'll have you know, the Great Papyrus is a most excellent listener! Unloading your worries is gaurranteed to lighter feelings! Your feeling of greatness will almost be as great as The Great Papyrus! Nyeh heh heh!" Papyrus laughed, both hands on his pelvis as he boasted.

The older of the two brothers felt his grin becoming more sincere, and he can't help the chuckle bubbling in his chest. His brother always do manage to cheer him up. "No, it's okay Paps. Tibia honest, I forgot what it was about. But it was bonely a dream, don't worry 'bout it."

Sans' grin widened at the look on his brother face at hearing the puns.

"Grrrr, Sans!"

"What, don't you find my jokes...humerous?"

Papyrus stomped his foot in irritation and said, "If you're feeling good enough to make puns then you're good enough to work!" With a huff, he strode through the doorless doorway. Sans stared at the door lying on the floor.

"... We should probably get that fixed." He paused in thought, "... Nah. It'll be fixed next reset."

At the reminder of the resets, his smile faded. Heaving a sigh, he pushed himself to his feet.
