CHAPTER 13:

(Nash's POV)

I watched as her eyes widened and felt her body go frigid underneath my hand. I quickly stepped in front of her as he approached, setting one of my arms back around on her hip. I knew exactly who it was.

"Christian.." she said quietly as he rounded the corner. His features were raging and his hands clenched tight.

"Where the hell have you been?" his eyes glanced at me and his nostrils flared. "With this prick I see. What the hell is your problem? Why haven't you been answering any of my texts?" he asked as he walked closer to us.

"I-I'm sorry Chris. I was at a friends last night, and Nash picked me up for breakfast.. I didn't want to talk to you." Her voice squeaked as she slightly stepped out from behind me.

"Bull shit." he said in a venomous voice. He came onto the same step as us and I positioned myself in front of her.

"Move out of my way Nash." he said as he walked closer to us.

"No." I said firmly.

"Move the hell out of my way!" His anger was quickly increasing. He reached out to grab her arm and I instinctively pushed him back.

"Touch her and you'll be sorry.." I threatened.

"She's my girlfriend. I can do whatever the hell I want with her." he said as he pushed me back.

He stood a couple inches taller than me, but not too much for me to take. I glanced behind me to see Delaney with a terrified look on her face.

"Don't talk about her like that. She's a human being, not your toy!" I yelled at him.

"Like you care about her. You banged another girl right in front of her. Delaney is mine, and there is no way in hell that you are taking her from me. Now move out of my way. We're leaving Delaney."

"No." she said in a quiet voice.

"Excuse me?" his face looked bewildered.

"I said no Christian. I'm not going anywhere with you. Not after last night and the way you're acting right now."

"You're overreacting." he rolled his eyes.

"No I'm not. You're being an ass, and I don't want anything to do with you right now." she stated in a firm voice.

I have him a slight smirk as his eyes pierced into mine.

"Look Delaney, I'm sorry for what I did. I just.. I need you right now." he tried pleading with her.

She stepped completely out from behind me with her arms crossed over her chest, a sour look adorning her delicate features.

"Until you learn to treat me right, and accept the fact that my life doesn't revolve your every want and need, you can keep yourself away from here. I'm so done with this Christian." her tone was icy.

His eyes widened and I watched as he gulped loudly and fumbled for words.

"So you can leave now." I said in his face.

I guess I was expecting and anticipating the pain upon my face as it started to sting. I knew that action would really piss him off.

I quickly sprang back and ignored Delaney's shriek of terror as I retaliated. I got him straight across the jaw and firmly stood my ground.

"Stop it!" she yelled as she pushed Christian back before he could hit me again.

I wiped at my nose where he had punched me, and pulled my hand back to find it covered with metallic scented blood.
