we blame
we scream and shout and yell
in agony like
it's the last possibility
so desperate for someone to blame
we don't know how to stop

but we're all our own kinds of messed up
a little bit wrong
a huge amount of false
in a society that picks on faults
like birds on bread crumbs

and when the black ravens
and when the faint pigeons
caw, caw, caw
look down on us
all we can do is shrink
underneath their stare
hide all that glitters and shimmers

for we look up to the sky
with dull, broken eyes.
