"Why would you do that? Besides she's expecting me? If you show up in my place then she'll question my absence."
"Listen, if you're going to work here there's a few things you need to understand. Mrs Kim isn't a very nice person, she doesn't give second chances especially when you're only an intern and you're already late."
"She would fire me for showing up late?! She asked me to do so many things, I got here as fast as I could."
"She would simply say that you're not fast enough, she doesn't care for excuses."
Deok-su gently took the files and tea from the now bewildered intern, some just weren't cut out for this kind of career and sadly Eun-Kyung was going to be one of them.
"I'll make something up, she won't come after you trust me."
"Okay, it's much appreciated."
Eun-Kyung lowered her head, mumbling something about taking a break before spinning on her heel and walking away.
Deok-su was positive she wouldn't return the following day, the poor thing looked terrified.
Exactly as he expected.
He approached the large door which led to Mrs Kim's office and rapped his knuckles against the glass, there was silence for a few seconds before she responded.
"Enter." Her tone austere, clipped.
"Morning Mrs Kim, your files and saenggangcha tea as requested."

"I didn't ask you to bring them Deok-su, I asked the intern. Where is she?"
This is when the charming Deok-su from before vanished and in his place was the man Mrs Kim knew him to be, the one she had trained since he started with the company four years prior.
The cold, calculating Deok-su who would stop at nothing to eliminate his competition and that's exactly what the adorable intern had been.....competition and a true imbeclie for believing his little act earlier.
"Running late, the poor thing was positively terrified and didn't have the nerve to explain her reasons to you. I saved her from the embarrassment of having to do so, explained how things work here. I suppose you would like me to see to it that her desk is packed away by the end of the day?"
Mrs Kim chuckled, shaking her head in amusement as Deok-su sat down in the chair opposite her desk.
"You really are a snake aren't you my dear Deok-su, I trained you well."
"She's my competition, why must you keep hiring these interns when you already have me as a perfectly capable personal assistant?"
"You know why my little jandie baem so why ask?"
Mrs Kim leaned back, slender fingers steepled over her lap as she allowed a devilish grin to form.
"Ah, you wish to keep me on my toes. I must constantly prove how much this job means to me by eliminating my competition, showing no remorse in this cutthroat industry."
"That and it amuses me, this place can be awfully drab and so I have to take advantage of my position here to find myself some entertainment. I also don't tolerate those who don't strive to be the best, I don't have time for people who simply don't make the cut."
Mrs Kim paused, slowly she moved forward and placed her elbows on the desk.
"Speaking of people proving themselves and also those who don't make the cut, my dear son Taehyung seems to be under the illusion that entering into a relationship with a blind girl from a poor family is satisfactory."
Mrs Kim sneered, nose turning up at the mere thought of her son with his little charity case.
"I can imagine that doesn't please you Mrs Kim."
"Of course it doesn't please me you moron, what a ludacris question."
Deok-su wasn't bothered by her brash response, four years working for the dragon had hardened him and strengthened his character.
"I suppose this is where I come in?" He smirked, crossing one leg over the other. Truth be told the chance to show Mrs Kim exactly what he was capable of appealed to him immensely.
"You suppose correct Deok-su, my son completely embarrassed me over the weekend. I had to explain to a very dear business acquaintance of mine that his refusal to accept their very generous offer was simply a rebellious act that I would certainly quash. I want you to do what you do best, find out as much as you possibly can about Taehyung's charity case and make sure she....like all the interns disappear. I expect results and I expect them fast, I want it done discreetly with no ties to myself. I hope I make myself clear, don't let me down Deok-su.....your job is on the line here."
Deok-su remained stoic, not giving away anything which could possibly make Mrs Kim doubt him.
"Consider it done Mrs Kim."
