Oh, where to begin...

Joshua Joyce could quite possibly be more of an asshole than Savoy, which was really saying something. He was the head of the KSI company, the very company that wanted to tear Ratchet apart and melt him down. The one that took in the bodies of slaughtered Autobots right under the nose of the United States Government, who thought they were using Decepticon corpses this entire time.

You absolutely despised him, for a good reason too. But you had to work with him if you wanted to keep your cover.

Today, he decided to make a surprise visit to the base you were in. Luckily, Attinger was out dealing with something elsewhere. That left Savoy to deal with him, which also meant you would be brought into it as well. Apparently, Joyce was upset that Ratchet hadn't been dismantled and shipped to his company yet to be transformed into Transformium (wow, what a unique name).

Time to deal with his temper tantrum...

———

"What the hell do you mean he's still alive?! He's supposed to be dead! Dead metal! That was our agreement!"

Joyce practically screamed every word and you rolled your eyes, trying to ignore the fact that your ears were hurting from this shouting fest. Savoy looked like he was about to blow, his face as red as a tomato. But he was, somehow, keeping his cool.

"Joyce, if you would cool your jets for just one goddamn second, I will explain everything." Savoy said while clenching his jaw, his anger clearly displayed on his face. "Actually, l/n here will explain it to you. Go ahead." He huffed, glancing at you as he leaned back in his chair.

You shot him a glare before composing yourself, folding your hands on the table as you focused your gaze on the fuming businessman before you. "Okay then. First of all, quit throwing a temper tantrum that a 2-year-old would have and shut your trap." Joyce was taken aback by that and you grinned slightly before continuing. "Second of all, we have a very good reason to keep him alive."

"Which is what? My company relies on those deliveries!" Joyce spat, an aggressive edge still audible in his voice. He definitely wasn't going to budge without a shove in the right direction.

"I know, dumbass." You retorted nastily, earning a snort of amusement from Savoy. Now that was something you didn't see everyday. "Instead of recklessly killing him, we made the decision of keeping him alive for information. Another benefit is that there is a possibility that we could draw Prime out of hiding if he knows we have his friend. So, before you throw another fit, actually use your brain and think of all the possibilities."

Joyce sat there in silence for a moment, opening his mouth like he was going to speak before clamping it shut. After a minute, he angrily fixed his glasses and let out a loud huff. "Alright, but this better be worth it. This is a major setback—"

"Yeah, yeah... we know." Savoy interrupted with a slight cough, rolling his eyes as he stood up from his chair. "Now go back to your happy little company and sit back while we handle things."

Joyce grit his teeth together, but said nothing more as he got up and left the room in a huff.

After he was gone, you let out a soft sigh of relief and looked at Savoy with a smirk on your face. "That was fun." You chuckled, gathering up the papers that were scattered across the table and putting them back in a file.

"Psh, you're telling me!" Savoy replied, rolling his eyes yet again as he headed towards the door. "At least we got him off our asses until the next hunt.." He muttered as he left the room.

You watched him go and sighed, rubbing your eyes with your knuckles and groaning softly. You didn't know how much longer you could keep this up. You had earned the trust of both Savoy and Attinger, but the hard part was keeping it. With another heavy sigh, you held the file full of papers against your side as you left the room and started walking towards Ratchet's containment cell. Tonight, you were going to explain the plan.
