I woke up the next morning on the sofa with a pizza box on my chest, pizza stains around my mouth and half an hour to get to school. I jumped off the sofa and on to the floor as fast as I could and rushed to my room to get ready. After ten or so minutes I was finally ready to leave. So I grabbed my skateboard from one of the many boxed down stairs and skated intensely to school.

By the time I reached the gates I was 5 minutes late and still had to go to the reception to receive my timetable as a new student.

I walked in to the reception looking kinda nervous and anxious as i was late on my first day at a new school.

"errm, miss" I said in a shallow voice

The woman behind the counter said nothing but put her index finger up as if to say 'one moment ill be with you shortly'

A few moments went by before I finally saw her stand up and look over her desk at me.

"Name" she said in a glum tone.

"errm, Thomas, Thomas Barger, but people just call me Tom for short" I shyly responded.

She Sighed at my babbling and gave me a slip with my time table on and then passed me my Student ID card so I could enter the school at the beginning of the day.

I then preceded to my class stopping at every map of the school to see where I need to go.

I was lost...

After an extencively long Period of walking in circles I finally got stopped by a member of Staff.

"excuse me Young man!" said a loud echoing voice which came from behind me

I slowly turned around as if the police had stopped me for carrying a weapon and asked me to move slowly. I looked up and there stood a tall bald man with a frown upon his face that stood out from a thousand miles away. The man was wearing a fancy Navy suit with matching Navy trousers and black shoes, followed by a white shirt and purple tie. He was tall and intimidating and I was scared shaking in my uniform...

"May I ask you, young man, why you are out of lessons", he asked in a stern manor, "it is not break time yet"

I Was still scared to death, but I managed to eventually get a response out.

"I, I , I'm new" I responded in a shaky voice.

This giant of a man could see the fear in my eyes and hear it in my voice and simply said, "so sorry, I didn't  mean to scare you stiff, I am the principle of this school. You can call me Mr Godwinn."

I began to slowly stop shaking as his voice got quieter and his tone changed.

"May I see your schedule, young man, I Might be able to help" he asked politely

I handed him the schedule and he took me to my class and explained the issue for me. I thanked him for his help and stood at the front of the class awkwardly as he walked away...

As the day went by I started to talk to people, but for some strange reason as soon as I mentioned where I live every one went silent and stopped talking to me. It was a weird day. By the time the first break started I was alone in the play ground with what felt like the whole School looking at me. It was impossible to shake the Feeling that something was wrong with my house.

Standing out from the crowd was a girl without a frown on her face but a smile. Running Towards me and the closer she got the happier it seemed her smile got. She was short with brunet hair and greenish blue eyes. It wasn't long before she was bouncing up and down in front of me...

"Is it true", she asked ecstatically

"what?", I replied in complete confusion

"You Live in the haunted house in the middle of Charlton Street?",  She replied with complete joy, "is it? is it?"

My Mouth Dropped with Fear as I realised why no one would have  a conversation past the topic of my house. I was speechless and just stood there with my mouth open for a few minutes looking like a pleb in front of the first girl who has spoken to me.

Real Smooth Tom, Anyway back to topic...

It took me a couple moments to contemplate the information that had just been given.

" I take that response as a yes then..." she giggled, "I'm Stacey and you are?"

I froze for a second, still in a bit of shock from her info and the fact she was still smiling about it. I snapped my self out of it and introduced myself to her. We talked for a while and she explained the story behind my house and that every child before me has gone missing in that house, and no one knows why. but what I know for sure is that I was terrified to go home after that day.

I made it through the rest of the day with Stacey following me around asking me questions about the house. I grabbed my Skateboard from my locker and skated home at a slow pace contemplating my interesting day.

As soon as I entered the door of my house I was greeted by my parents who had spent their day unboxing everything from the move. The house looked amazing in its finished glory. I put my school bag upstairs in my room and came back down to the living room for dinner. But on my way down the stairs I heard a sound. A humming coming from upstairs.

"MUM!!!" I shouted

"Yes Hun", she replied, "what's the matter?"

The humming noise had disappeared so I naturally thought I was on edge from school and was hearing things.

"Never mind", I shouted down the stairs.

Dinner went by rather quickly. Just three people around a table eating and watching the TV. We never seemed to have a conversation.

Something I now regret...anyway...

After dinner I washed up and when to bed not bothering to consult my parent about the tale that Stacey had told to me earlier. It was an old looking creepy house from the outside they were probably trying to scare me and it worked for a bit. I went to bed, closed my eyes and tried to go to sleep. That's when I heard it again...

The humming, so loud, so intimidating as if it was resonating from this room. I got up out of my bead and headed to my door to get my parent but it wasn't there. My door was gone and in place of it was a rustic old iron door with a golden shiny door nob. no windows, no markings, just a door.

I slowly walked towards it, taking a deep breath with every step I took. With each step taken the humming got louder as if the door was calling to me. I reached for the door knob but before I could touch it the door way swung open nearly hitting me around the head as it did. I could not see what was on the other side. It was dark, darker than the night itself. There was no other way to go, the house was pushing me in with extreme force and I couldn't fight it.

Before I knew it my feet were in the door way and the door had slammed shut...
