I can't sleep. I'm currently sharing a bed with my best friend Yui. I made a habit of sleeping over at her place on weekends. She insisted that she loved having me over, but I wasn't worried about that. It was her "roommates" that concerned me more. I'll admit finding out your best friend lives with 6 vampires and then visits 4 more was...shocking to say the least. The last thing I want is to annoy one of them, especially Kanato. However, I've managed to keep to myself without confrontation with the brothers. I get up out of the bed to go find a way to tire myself out more.  I quietly tiptoe into the hallway and start to explore the mansion, having never taken the opportunity before because I didn't want to have a run-in with any of the brothers. Hallway after hallway, room after room and I'm already lost. This place is ginormous. I open another door to see what's inside only to quickly realize that it's a bedroom. Shit, I can't be in here. However, my curiosity peaks and I look to see whose room it is. A quick look around and then I will find my way back. On the bed is no other than the eldest brother himself. I've only seen him once or twice, reason being is that he's always sleeping somewhere so I just don't bother him. Okay, time to go, I've invaded his privacy enough. I go to close the door but I'm stopped by a voice.

"Are you going to stand out there all night?", well if I wasn't dead before I am now. I open the door again and peek inside only to be met with now open blue eyes.

"Sorry, I didn't know it was your bedroom, I couldn't sleep so I was just exploring to tire myself"

"Exploring? Well, come in if you want to explore then", What? Is he serious?

"Oh and shut the door will you?" I guess so. I walk in and quietly shut the door. I start to look around. It was quite spacious for a bedroom but then again that's common in mansions. No pictures, no posters, just a desk, couch, coffee table, and a bed.

"Y/N is it?" he asked.

"Yeah, that's me," I say with a slight chuckle.

"Come sit down" his voice alone said that it wasn't a suggestion. I go over to the bed and sit down.

"You really shouldn't walk around so late, let alone walking into random rooms, I could've been naked, though I'm sure you wouldn't have minded, so lewd." I am shocked at his words, I don't even know this man and he's making such accusations.

"Excuse me, but I don't even know you, you can't just assume something like that. I'm sorry that I walked into your room but it wasn't like that" I am beyond flustered at this point. I can't believe I am having this conversation with him. Not even Yui knew of my huge crush on Shu. Sure, I've only seen him a couple of times but I've heard so much about him and I'm willing to bet that he's more than what meets the eye.  Still, his crude words didn't leave a good impression on his character. I get up to leave only to be grabbed by my wrist and pinned down.

"Nevertheless, you're here and I'm thirsty" this is exactly what I've been trying to avoid. I see him getting closer and closer to my neck.

"Shu, stop, not like this" I may have feelings for Shu, but I can't let this happen. Not right now.

"As opposed to what? Is there another way you'd rather me do this?" I place my hands on his shoulders gently, and by surprise, he lifts himself away from my neck but still close to my face. I put my hand on his face.

"If we are doing this, it is because I say you can." he chuckles darkly.

"You think I'd listen to you? You must not only be stupid but also naive"

"I would hope that you do," I say solemnly.

"Why?" he said, his voice was laced with frustration.

"Becuase I...becuase I care about you" I closed my eyes, that's it. It's out there. He knows and I can't take those words back. He just looks at me, his face is unreadable. He sits up, his back facing me.

"You should go," he said. So that's what rejection feels like. Hurts like a bitch. I get up off the bed and walk towards the door. I open the door, but before I go out, I turned around.

"Goodnight Shu"

"Goodnight Y/N"

I give him a slight smile and walk out. I eventually find my way to Yui's room. I quietly open the door and tiptoe to the bed. I lay down and sigh. I am now exhausted and shut my eyes with hopes of good dreams and a better day.
