Third Place

Looking For Light by avadel

Grammar: 10

Cover: 8

Plot: 9

Total: 27/30

Praise:

Looking For Light is so subtly haunting that it keeps me on edge. Using deep, significant vignettes and short, sharp detail, avadel crafts a jittery novella of an innocent but strange narrator that turns the wheels in readers' heads from chapter one. The time lapses and emotional instability are so well portrayed that I don't think a horror film about it will do it justice. For once, words have beaten pictures. ~Gear

This chilling story is a work of art from avadel. You need to absorb every single detail and word written in this book to feel the full impact of the story (and DO NOT skip ahead). The anonymous narrator's thoughts and memories contribute to the general pending atmosphere that avadel has set for us. Although I would suggest working on the aesthetics and design of the cover (I do like the arch that you've put in the title), I believe this story deserves much more recognition. ~Mary

What She Left Behind by neurotick

Grammar: 10

Cover: 9

Plot: 9

Total: 28/30

Praise:

What She Left Behind is a heart breaking and realistic tale of the big three: family, friendship, and loss. Filled with complexity, humor, and brilliant suspense, What She Left Behind is a battle against self and against the people you love. Protagonist Gemma is far from the classic perfect heroine of the story as she deals with the suicide of her best friend as well as its toll on her family, making her all the memorable. Watch and wait and get ready for what unfolds. ~Gear

I love the wistful, suspenseful world neurotick  has created! Whenever I feel like there's too much sadness, neurotick  comes at just the right time to insert comic relief and action. What's better is that the cast of characters is so diverse and thorough that you believe they are real, unique people. There's a balance to this story that keeps me hooked even after hours of reading! And the ending was worth it! ~Mary

First Place

Quid Pro Quo by SouthPawStance

Grammar: 10

Cover: 9

Plot: 10

Total: 29/30

Praise:

Quid Pro Quo is like a cross between Indiana Jones and The National Treasure. Complete with murder mysteries, clever clues, and a whole lot of ancient history, this race against time is like no other detective story found on Wattpad. SouthPawStance never fails to provide hilarious commentary from protagonist Satchmo Turner as he navigates dark waters and uncovers shocking twists and turns. A truly thrilling case! ~Gear

SouthPawStance  is on top of this mystery story from the start! Satchmo is far from the perfect detective, which makes him all the more relatable and perfect for the case he is given. I often found myself sympathizing for the poor guy as he tries to balance the mystery with finding a date, and his actions and thoughts really are adorable sometimes. If you could combine mystery and thriller (which is basically this category) into one single word, you would get Quid Pro Quo. ~Mary
