Third Place

The Chronicles of Mel-Luo by LadyWazzy

Grammar: 10

Cover: 9

Plot: 7

Total: 26/30

Praise:

LadyWazzy knows that there is no such thing as a perfect heroine in "The Chronicles of Mel-Luo". Terra doesn't have a perfect life (on Earth or in the techno-magical world of Alreines) or a perfect personality (evident in her stuttering conversations), which makes her all the more relatable. Plus, the two main male characters are so well developed that I'm sure LadyWazzy will soon have her audience split in two: those rooting for Luke and those rooting for Leon. Who will she choose? I'm curious to find out! ~Felicia

A magical world with very intriguing powers. This story is clearly going somewhere interesting. ~Randol

Second Place

The Last Philosopher by NickfEast

Grammar: 10

Cover: 8

Plot: 9

Total: 27/30

Praise:

There is no hurry with NickfEast's "The Last Philosopher" because every detail counts. The world that NickfEast has created is full of humor at every turn, along with sarcasm and the occasional satire. NickfEast also brings out the uniqueness of all the characters through their relations with each other or their many self-reflections. Although I would love to see more action in the first few chapters, it gets more interesting as we dive deeper into NickfEast's Huom. I might call it a classic one day! ~Felicia

Dark humor. Complex and believable minds. I enjoy the adventures embarked on in the characters' consciousness and by the characters themselves. ~Randol

First Place

Of Caverns And Casters by avadel

Grammar: 10

Cover: 9

Plot: 10

Total: 29/30

Praise:

I've never seen magic and science come together quite as well as in "Of Caverns And Casters". There is something captivating with the way avadel portrays the characters in this novel, whether it's through dialogue or through inner turmoil. avadel makes sure that readers feel like they're witnessing the story unfold right before their eyes, with proper pauses and the right amount of imagery to get her point across. "Of Caverns And Casters" is a masterpiece of witty storytelling that brings out a new kind of Fantasy. ~Felicia

A wonderful world through the eyes of science. It combines just the right amount of emotional feedback with action. ~Randol
