Hiccup woke up the next morning in his own home. He remembered he had made his way back to the village yesterday from his little vacation.
He closed his eyes to get some more sleep, but suddenly shot out of bed.
"Holy shit." He said. "Elsa's here!" He frantically ran around his room, hoping to better his appearance so Elsa didn't have to look at some bewildabeast that just woke up.
When he was done, he inhealed deeply and opened his bedroom door. He saw Elsa still asleep on the couch.
He couldn't help but smile. She insisted on sleeping on the couch last night because she was afraid of Amelia finding out she was her mother. Though Hiccup didn't understand why, he didn't argue and let her do as she asked.
Speaking of Amelia, Hiccup snapped himself back into reality.
"I should go talk to her." He said to himself aloud, walking to the stairs. "Or should she talk to me?" He turned and walked away from the stairs. He shook his head and walked up the stairs.
He lifted his hand up to the door to knock, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. It was as if there was someone holding his wrist, preventing him from putting his knuckles on the door.
He closed his eyes and forced himself to knock on the door. To his surprise, the door opened. But something seemed off.
He opened his eyes and opened the door fully. He looked around the room and saw that there was nobody inside but him.
He went into panic mode. Running around the room, he threw all of the pillows off of the bed, looked in her closet and opened all her drawers. All of her clothes were gone and she was nowhere to be seen.
Hiccup started breathing heavily as he put his hands on his head. He fell to the floor, pulling his own hair with his hands.
"Hiccup?" Elsa said. "Oh gods!" She saw Hiccup panicking on the floor and ran to his side. She knelt on the ground and grabbed his face.
"Hiccup take deep breaths." She said, hoping to calm him down. "Breathe." She noticed that Hiccup was shaking, but really bad. It was almost like he had been out in the cold for days without any source of warmth.
He tried to talk, but his mouth was shaking so much, words couldn't come out.
"It's going to be okay Hiccup." Elsa said, sitting down in front of him. "Just focus on being calm." She pulled his body to hers and embraced him as they both sat on the floor.
She knew how to handle situations like this, it wasn't the first time Hiccup had done this. When they first started dating, Hiccup told her that he would have really bad panic attacks and he would have them at least twice a month. He didn't really know the reason as to why he would get such bad panic attacks, but they still happened. Elsa was basically trained to handle this.
A few minutes passed and Hiccup was finally calm. They still sat on the floor, Elsa stroking his brown hair.
"She's gone." Hiccup whispered. "She just took everything she owned and left." He sat up, pulling himself away from Elsa.
"Really?" Elsa asked. "Why?" "I don't know that's the thing." Hiccup said. The two sat in silence until Hiccup stood up quickly.
"Oh my gods I'm so sorry." He said, pulling his arms into a hug with himself. "I shouldn't h-have acted that way. I-I'm really, really sorry."
"Hiccup don't worry." Elsa said, standing up and putting a hand on his shoulder. "I would've done the same thing." He just shook his head.
"No you wouldn't have." He said, pulling his shoulder out of her grasp. "You're perfect. I'm not. It was so childish of me." He said. "I can take care of them myself, I did it when she was gone."
