Why'd she have to stay home from school? She knew it was only going to make her miss him more. Without any distractions, what was she supposed to do? Her book was making her feel... a weird feeling, that she didn't quite know how to describe. The only words she could use were 'lovey-dovey'. People seemed to know what she was talking about when she said that.

She had stayed home from school for three days now. And for three days, she's been doing nothing but reading and thinking about Eli. He didn't come home until about 3:20, and Star felt like she couldn't wait. Although they never really had actual conversations, they did talk a lot- on discord. Rarely in DMs, but honestly, Star was okay with that. To her, constantly talking in DMs seemed kind of... dumb in a way. She had asked Eli why he never directly messaged her, (discord was an app where you could be on a server with a lot of other people. So that was where they had had most of there conversations) and he had said he never really knew what to talk about. Star understood that. Actually, now that she thinks about, what could they talk about? Star loved music, and animals, romantic stuff, (although she never describes it as 'romantic stuff'- to her, it sounded a little... cringey) books, and so much more. Eli was more into video games, memes and such. (She's sure there's more to say about him, but her mind couldn't come up with anything)

Star thought it was kind of funny.

She thought it was funny how someone like Eli- someone who only said a few words in a one message, someone who knew more about video games than anyone else, someone who people might refer to as a "Meme dealer" or "cursed image supplier"- could be so.. caring. It surprised Star at first. When Eli had first told her "I love you" she didn't know how to respond. Star sort of thought he was one those people who only wanted to be in a relationship just to tell their friends- just to have someone to call theirs. But after that first "I love you," she realized she was wrong. He started showing her actual affection, which was really surprising. But she was going to stop here. She didn't want to say anymore when he isn't around. Just hopefully no one from the server finds this...
