Lost Girl (Voltron Fanfic)

Twelve

"Keith..." I hear Nat start

"Nope, can't change my mind," I say

"Alright. You heard him." Shiro says "Everybody but Keith, we're on distraction while Keith gets in there to Nat and her Lion. As soon as they are clear, we all head out towards the wormhole again. Got it?"

"Got it!" I hear everybody else over the intercoms say

I look around as the others go and find soldiers to mess with. I shoot forward, dodging the other ships as they fly towards the others.

I look at Purple when I see it spinning in circles as it's shooting at different ships as they go towards Shiro's ship.

I stop next to the Purple Lion as I get out of Red and head towards Purple. It opens its mouth as I enter the cockpit and see Nat sitting there, reaching for the controls as she keeps her eyes darting back and forth.

"You probably shouldn't be fighting with your injuries." I start

Natasha sharply turns around as she looks at me, pure fear in her eyes before she shakes her head.

"You know that I can handle myself." She nervously laughs "I overheard Shiro's instructions, get back to Red and we'll join the others."

I roll my eyes as I head back out and towards Red, calling the jaw blade and taking a few ships down before turning to head towards the wormhole.

I look back to see Nat chasing after us as the others fall into formation, Shiro taking the back.

"Good to have you with us, Nat," Pidge says

"Sorry I left in the first place." She says

"Not like you really had a choice," Hunk says

I hear her as she chuckles as her lion starts to catch up with all of us.

"You've gotten pretty good flying that thing without help," Lance says

"I had my own version of help." She shoots back

"Oh, really?" Lance says

"Lance, you really don't want to challenge me." She laughs "I've learned new things since I've been gone."

I hear everybody laugh over the comms as Coran and Allura open up a wormhole and we all head inside.

I watch as Nat slowly comes out of her lion as she looks around and looks uneasily at Allura and Coran.

"Thanks for giving me the chance to question them," Nat says as she looks at Allura and Coran

"I would give that thanks to Pidge and Coran as they are the ones who thought of giving the fake piece to you," Allura says

Nat looks over at Pidge as she just smiles at her.

"Your father would be really proud of that." She says with a laugh

Pidge's smile gets bigger as she walks over to Nat and gives her a side hug.

"Thanks to all of you guys for rescuing me when I didn't give you a reason to trust me after everything." She starts again

"You're Shiro's family. We can't just leave you behind." Lance says

Natasha rolls her eyes before shaking her head.

"Where can I clean up? I bet you guys don't want to deal with all this blood." She says

"Here, let me show you," Pidge says as she grabs Nat's arm and pulls her out of the room

"Are you guys sure we can trust her?" Allura asks

"Of course. She's made dumb decisions. But she's a great girl and will try her hardest to be better." Shiro says "We'll keep an eye on her."

"Is she going to start fighting with us?" Lance asks

"Her lion is the spirit of Voltron," Hunk says

"Let's just take it one day at a time." I start "If she wants to fight, she can. We just need to give her time."

Everybody looks at me as they look at me with a curious look.

"That was your mindset when she first lost Shiro, you sure you want to risk that again," Lance says

"Don't make me regret anything McClain." I start "It's not like I can leave her presence this time."

Lance looks at me before walking out with Hunk as Shiro walks over to me and sets his hand on my shoulder.

"Thanks for looking out for her." He says

"She's my best friend. I can't let anything happen on my watch. Not again." I start

"Are you doing okay?" He asks

"Of course I am." I start

"Truth please Keith." He says

I sigh as I look towards the door Pidge took her through.

"I'm just scared for her well being. When I got to her during that fight, she looked like she was terrified of me." I start "But now that we're here, she seems to be fine."

"As you said, she just needs time." He says

I slowly nod as I turn to walk towards my room.
