It was another freezing winter day. It's been four days since her parents left. Five days with no heat. Two days with no food. Three days since her fingers, nose, ears, and toes went black. Two days since breathing became hard. One day since she stopped shivering. She has to keep count. It's been hard to think lately. Maybe she hasn't been using her brain enough.
Luca pulls the blankets around her tighter. She wishes there were more, but these are all the ones from around the house. It may be enough though, she wasn't shivering anymore. She uncurls her hands from the blanket, taking a peek at her fingers. Still black. The black has also began to engulf her hands as well. She wraps them backup, looking around the house. There wasn't much for a five year old to do. So, she closed her eyes and listened.
The wind was howling outside thanks to the storm. She couldn't hear much besides that until a loud, shattering sound echoed throughout the cabin. Freezing wind blew, snow flowing inside. Luca opened her eyes, peering over to the window. A tree branch had shattered the living room's window, allowing the winter inside. There wasn't much she could do. So, she closed her eyes again. And this time, she didn't open them.
Well, okay. That's a lie. Kind of... Luca did open her eyes again, just not in her physical body. Luca passed away on the fourth day of her parents abandonment. They thought she was a bother and would be better off staying at the cabin while they go 'get the heat turned back on'. Those dicks.
When Luca did wake up, she was in Heaven. God found her cards wrongly dealt and decided to give her a better 'life'. She continued to grow, learning and playing like she was still a human girl. Her wings were a beautiful blue, belonging to a Mountain Bluebird. The other angels adored her wings vibrant colour, and they all got along...
Until they found out Luca liked girls.
God didn't cast her out as punishment, but rather protection. The angels started to harass and bully her, so God sent her to the planet Ealsma. There she met a beautiful siren name Kelly Gardner.
