LILO SALGADO

He says he's going to kill me, only I don't know when. He'll breathe life into this body, and rip me open like I wasn't made of anything, as though I am not flesh and bone. He will sacrifice me at his altar in the name of righteousness. He will reign in all of hell. He wants me, he desires me. He is the son of the king of the morning star and I fear the light.

He is going to do to me as I do to myself. One hand, one breath, a shiver, a cry, a death. He promises me midnight while I scream in desperation, shaking underneath him. If he's the savior, it's a sin. And I'm reaping what I sowed a lifetime ago.

An angel, his angel, made only for him. Human, only human, but an angel in his eyesight. He'll devour me if I let him. He'll ruin me if he truly wants to.

Father, forgive me. I think I'm going to let him.
