Metting New Companions And Poffin Cooking Class

"If you're looking to learn how to make Poffins, follow me", she said and Y/N followed her inside with Gardevoir and Starly following behind. Ash, Dawn and Brock also followed into the shop

"What Pokemon are you trying to make Poffins for?", the woman asked

"Namely my Gardevoir and my Starly", Y/N replied. The woman looked them over before clicking her fingers.

"Say no more, I'll go get the berries needed. Your Gardevoir seems to be the Modest type, so I will need some Charti Berries for Dry Poffins. Your Starly seems to be the Adamant type, so Tanga Berries seem best for Spicy Poffins. But it is something that is dependant on how far into their particular nature they are. So I'll get some other berries for those flavours too. Do not mix Spicy and Dry berries together, they are disliked by both Modest and Adamant type Pokemon. Modest love Dry but hate Spicy. Adamant love Spicy but hate Dry.", she said before heading through the back door. Y/N looked at Dawn.

"Weirdest thing is, at times I eat Poffins. I know they're for Pokemon, but my mum wanted me to try each type of Poffin she made and I prefer the sweet ones made with Mago Berries. Perhaps the marking on my back gives me some sort of Pokemon characteristics too", he said with a shrug and Dawn giggled

"Perhaps. Maybe you could make some Sweet Poffins too. I'm not sure if she has Mago Berries, but Persim Berries are used as well for Sweet Poffins. My mum taught me that", she replied. The woman soon arrived with two baskets, one full of Charti Berries and the other full of Tanga Berries.

"Alright. So you'll want to simply add one berry into the pre-prepared mixture. Then stir is gently so it doesn't spill, but not too slowly that it'll burn", she explained gesturing to a bowl of batter. Y/N looked over the berries and then at Gardevoir and Starly. He picked up a Tanga Berry and placed it into the bowl before slowly and carefully stirring the mixture. He remembered what Sheena told him while he watched her cooking Poffins a while ago.

"Stir carefully, but not too quickly or too slowly. Keep an eye on the time", he said to himself and once the dough was ready, he put it into the molds and into the oven before he started preparing for making dry ones with Charti Berries. Eventually, the spicy ones were ready. Y/N gently took them out and placed them in a bowl for Starly

"Not yet Starly. Gardevoir needs to have hers ready before you can eat", he replied before he carried out the same method with the Charti Berries. When they were finished, he took them out and poured them into a bowl for Gardevoir and placed the two bowls in front of the Pokemon before the woman caught his attention

"I'm Forsythia. Nice to meet you", she said holding out a hand.

"I'm Y/N, nice to meet you too", Y/N replied shaking her hand

"I overheard you saying something about sweet Poffins while I was getting the berries for your Pokemon", Forsythia said

"Yeah, about that. My mum taught me about berries and Poffins. She helped me make sweet ones with Pecha Berries and I tried one, which I loved. She told me that Mago, Persim, Pecha and Kasib Berries are best for sweet Poffins, with Kasib making the sweetest ones. Do you happen to have any?", he asked and Forsythia smiled

"Of course, let me go get them", she replied before heading out again. Ash stifled a laugh

"Something tells me you're more Pokemon-like than you know", he said and Y/N smiled

"That's kind of what my mum told me as well", he replied. Forsythia came back with some Mago, Persim, Pecha and Kasib Berries and Y/N made some Poffins using them. When he was done, he had four bowls of Poffins ready. He handed one of the Poffins he'd made using Pecha Berries to Pikachu who enjoyed the taste. He took out some containers from his backpack and wrote on them what berries had been used in each Poffin bowl befoe he poured the respective bowl of Poffins into the container

"Why do you do that?", Brock asked and Y/N sealed up the containers

"It's so that if Gardevoir and Starly get hungry for their Poffins, I don't need to worry about making them their favourite Poffins", he explained showing them the containers labelled 'Gardevoir' and 'Starly'.

"My mum marked them so I do not mix them up. Gardevoir hates spicy ones, like Starly hates dry ones. The other container called 'Teamwork Poffins' are sweet Poffins me and mum made", he explained and they seemed to understand. Gardevoir and Starly finished their bowls of Poffins and laid back happily. Y/N lifted Starly onto his head, where the young starling Pokemone curled up and went to sleep. Y/N smiled at this and looked at Gardevoir who was getting back up

"Anytime you want to make more Poffins, just visit", Forsythia said and Y/N smiled

"Thanks for your advice on making Poffins", he said as the five of them began leaving the Poffin shop.

"Why do you eat sweet Poffins?", Dawn asked and Y/N shrugged

"Guess it's something to do with my marking. That's my main reason I'm travelling. I have no memory of my past or how I got this marking.", he replied before turning to the three of them. "What about you?", he asked

"I'm trying to become a Pokemon Master", Ash said confidently

"I want to become a Pokemon Top Coordinator like my mum", Dawn said with a smile

"I want to become a Pokemon Breeder so I can help Pokemon instead of battle them", Brock replied.

"Those are all very noble goals. Just don't let them become an obsession. I think my quest to find my purpose would be an obsession", Y/N replied and Brock shook his head

"It's not. You don't know your past. Everyone deserves to know where they came from. I think it's good that you want to find out your past", he said and Y/N smiled as the five of them began heading off out of Floaroma Town.
