It went as smoothly as Maya and Seth had told him it would. Juliet's parents were welcoming to him, that it even made her surprised. She swore someone must be impersonating them because of how different they seemed.
"So, tell me Embry" Cordelia looked at the male, who was helping her set the table, which made her so happy at how polite he was," How long have you and Juliet known each other?"
He set down the last of the plates and turned up to her," We met two years ago, in the Summer vacation you came to Forks" He explained and her eyes lit up
"Oh my! That means you're the one Juliet was always excited to meet whenever she left the house"
"Mom!" Juliet cried in embarrassment, walking in the moment her mom said that
"Oh don't be embarrassed sweetie, I told your father this, and he kept denying it" The sound of her father's chuckle filled her ears from behind her as he walked in with the tray of food
"I didn't want to think about my daughter sneaking off" He joked making Embry freeze in place.
He noticed and then put his free hand on Embry's shoulder," Sorry Son, I didn't mean it like that-It's just Juliet never showed interest in boys, so I have gotten the habit of not thinking about it" Embry looked at Juliet who loudly facepalmed and looking at him as he smiled at her.
They all sat down at the dining after fully setting the table, and Embry felt calm once Juliet had sat next to him, having her nest to him was enough to take most of his nervousness away in an instance," So, what happened at the end of the summer?" Cordelia asked looking at the pair
Embry felt his palms grow sweaty as he left like the question was directly meant for him. He was relieved her tone was not showing any sign of hostility, but instead just pure curiosity.
Juliet grabbed his hand under the stable squeezing it in reassurance, as he delivered," Timing was horrible, when we promised to meet, something had come up-and I failed to show up because of the circumstances" He kept it vague just like how they did with Aniya since he couldn't just say he had phased at the time, because of vampires appearing in the area.
"So, you both talked about it? I take it especially since you're together now" Johnathan asked and Juliet nodded
" Yeah, but we waited for a few months until we actually started dating"
"It's not because of the imprinting, right?" Cordelia said and both of the teens shot their head's up at her words
"What?" Juliet voice cracked, as Embry looked at her and back to her mom
"You know about it?" He asked as her parents nodded
"Billy explained it to us"
Juliet gulped but kept her hand in Embry's," I know this seems a little rude, but why did Billy tell you guys about it?" Cordelia chuckled and reached over grabbing her daughters' free hand
"Sweetie" Juliet picked up the tone in her mom's voice.
"What's wrong mom?" She asked holding her hand, both of her parents looked at each other and nodded turning to her and Embry
"We love Forks so much, but it's gotten harder for us just to stay in a small town. Our work has not been the same and so we decided we are going to move again," Juliet's face fell as well with Embry's both of them feeling like the world was just tearing them apart once again.
