a cold gust of wind hit my neck, blowing snowflakes into my hair. i shivered hard. this prefecture happens to have the worst winters ever. although today it didn't bother me much. i usually hate winter but today, the snowflakes seem really pretty. maybe it's jimin's thinking getting to me. he really likes snowflakes.

i'm standing at the bus stop near his place. the road's covered with easily 2 inches of snow, and since its morning, there aren't any cars around. i pull my scarf tighter around my neck.

i haven't seen him in a year.

finally he walks up to me. he has a little black and white long-sleeved shirt under a baby-blue hoodie, and he's swaying his arms as he walks those same tiny steps. the same boy from my childhood, here, walking towards me. seeing my watching him, he waves at me. flustered, i duck my head, pretending not to see him. i wasn't really sure why i did that.

"noona! it's been a while-"

i hesitated for a second, and looked up.

he's definitely grown up. i'm surprised i even recognised him. but he has that same cute nose, and that dimple on his left cheek that gets deeper every time he smiles at me. it's a cold day, but when he looks at me like that, my heart seems to warm up.

"jimin. you're late."

he looks surprised, his smile even falters for a second, but returns a moment later.

"ahh, sorry. bang PD made us stay back a while for dance practice. my joints kinda ache..."

i frown unintentionally. i almost forgot about his new career as an idol. i should have guessed, honestly, he dances so well, sings like an angel too, ever since we were young.

i'm worried. isn't it stressful being an idol? crazy diets? and always being onstage? it has to be tiring. imagining jimin like that makes my heart hurt inwardly. i tense up.

"something wrong?" jimin peers at me, scrunching up his nose.

"nah, nothing."

but still. who am i to stop him? i'm just a childhood friend. we played a bit, we made some memories, who cares? it's history now. plus, all those fangirls, all those pretty fangirls screaming his name. my ears warm up.

"eeh! your ears are turning red-

noona, are you having weird thoughts?" he smirks, saying.

"wha- JIMIN!" i blush harder, giggling. he laughs, his body shaking.

yes, i do like jimin.

no, i'm not ready to let go.

all of a sudden, his laughing turns to crying. i'm so shocked that no words come out. i just stand in front of him, frozen like a snowman. maybe i'm mistaken? maybe he's just laughing weirdly? i mean, he's always been weird, maybe-

no. two teardrops fall onto the gravel, like a kid drawing two tiny eyes. but no smile.

i'm so confused.

"jimin-ah? jimin, why are you crying?

stop it! stop crying, i don't like it!"

he's bent over, i can't see his face. he wipes his face with his sleeve and sighs shakily.

"sorry. it was supposed to be happy." that smile reappears, and i feel like slapping his face.

"stop with that dumb smile. idiot. don't pretend you're happy."
