Our faces were just inches apart and then our foreheads touched and our lips were slightly brushing against each other.

We stayed like that for some beautiful ten seconds before the sound of the doorknob being turned made us both jump away from each other.

Mr. Bates cursed under his breath and rubbed the back of his neck while the nurse came in.

"Oh, Mr.Bates and Ms?" the nurse said with a huge smile

"Stuart, Marie Stuart"

"Ms. Stuart," she started but I interrupted her "just Marie, please" and shyly smiled "Okay, Marie, good afternoon and what can I help you with?" she asked

"Well, I twisted y ankle but Mr. Bates already took care of it," I said and looked to meet Mr. Bates' gaze

"Oh, okay, but I'm also going to check it, Marie okay?" she asked and sat on the little stairs thing where Mr. Bates was seated only some minutes ago

"Okay, Yeah sure," I said

Mr.Bates started going towards the door but when he was right in front of it the nurse said,

"Where do you think you're going?"

Mr. Bates stopped on his tracks, turned around and said flushed "Um, I'm going to leave you to do your job,"

"Nonsense, stay, please" Mr. Bates sighed and then returned and stood beside the nurse.

She started asking me questions about what had happened so I explained to her how everything had happened while she examined the bandage that Mr. Bates had put on my ankle, she started twisting and touching my ankle to check it a little before letting me go.

"You did a great job, Mr. Bates, I'm surprised, I didn't know you were so good at bandaging," she said genuinely surprised

"Thank you" he responded rubbing the back of his neck and with the slightest shade of pink taking over his cheeks.

"As for you Marie, You need to get that ankle checked up. It's not broken for sure but it's likely sprained" she explained me.

"It seems that you were right," I said raising my gaze, looking at Mr. Bates

"It seems like it yeah" He responded nervously with a small hint of a smile on his lips.

The nurse gave me some further recommendations for my ankle and told me to go home. After that, she helped me up and put my left arm around her neck and wrapped her right arm around my waist in order to hold my right hand so I could have better support and stability. She was opening the door, about to help me get to the gym herself when Mr. Bates interrupted her and said,

"I can help her doc, I'm not busy at all and that way you can be here if someone else needs your help"

"Are you sure Mr. Bates?" the nurse asked a little unsure
