Chapter 1

"Nothing. It's just funny when you freak out because people are looking at you." She giggles.

"I don't freak out, I just don't see what the big deal is, I'm the same as I was last year, so why all this attention now?" I sit down as the bell rings.

"It's not the same. You're internet famous now, you weren't last year. Well, you were but you weren't as famous.People want that too, so you'll get more attention and... OH! That's Anthony!" She says while gesturing to the tall guy that just entered the room to come sit beside us.

Looks like Anthony just made his way to the top of Britt's list. Good luck to him, I tell myself while opening my notebook.

I'm glad I'm halfway through my first day of school. Not that it means school is over, but still. I'm not one of those people who count the days left before something. Like, if I would be counting the days before summer vacation now, that would be really depressing.

I'm heading over to our usual lunch spot, but no one is there yet. Then I see a tall girl with really short brown hair walking my way, Nelia.

"Hey Nelia, what's up?" I ask her while she hugs me.

"Not much.."

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing it's just... Never mind I gotta go." She looks behind her and walks away.

Then I see the reason why and I understand what's got her so upset.

Matt.

With a girl.

No, they're not dating. But Nelia is always telling me she really likes him.

And guess what, Matt is always telling me that he really likes her.

Seriously people, get your shit together.

I walk over to him and when he sees me, I bring my arms up in the air.

"What's up with you? Aww did you miss me?"

No I didn't miss you. It really doesn't matter if we have no classes together.

Matt is a year older than me, so that's why I barely see him at school.

"No. Did you speak to Nelia?" I ask him.

"No... She's been avoiding me."

"Oh, I wonder why." I say as I stare at the girl standing beside him.

I know that's not very nice, I mean, it must be awkward for her right not. But I care more about my two friends not being able to express themselves. Come on, be a man Matthew!

"Could you hum... Leave us for a second?" He asks her.

"Ugh, whatever." She says before walking away.

"Bitch." I say, but really for myself.

"Agreed." Britt says.

"When did you get here?" I laugh, looking at her.

"Not long ago, but long enough to hear who you were talking about and I totally agree. What a bitch." She tells us.

"Could you leave us for a second Britt... Me and Eva need to talk..."

Britt gives him a hug before heading to our table.

"You didn't tell her?" I ask him.

"No... I don't know how..." He mumbles.

"Look at me. You have nothing to worry about. I know she likes you and I know for a fact that if you don't tell her soon, she'll just give up and move on to something and maybe even someone else. So grow some balls, be a man and ask her out already!" I yell at him before going to sit at the table.
