Clary's POV:
" That was a punishment. Do not make me do it again. Or it will be a hell of a lot worse." He threatened, speaking low. I growled and he threw me back into the cage. In the broken mirror piece he had smashed, I could see my reflection. It was dirty, ripped clothes, matted hair, sunken eyes. " Hey, Clary? Can I ask you something?" Chalice asked, kind of warily. I jumped in surprise. I had forgotten my sister was here. Wow. My sister. " OK, shoot."
" You said our mothers name was not is. What happened?" I was startled. My mother was something nobody ever brang up, because they knew. Nobody brang up anything, to be honest. " Chalice, I don't want to talk about it. Please just leave it." She started to protest. " Chalice!" I snapped, turning away. Out of the corner of my eye I saw her shrink back to the other side of the cage. I immediately felt so guilty, I had to say something. " Chalice, I'm sorry. Just, please do not bring our mother again, OK?" I said gentler reaching out to touch her outstretched hand. She grinned and gave me an air hug. " OK. Now lets talk about your 5 star, amazing, famous boyfriend!"
