ALAINA

I laid in the bed, stroking Greyson's hair. "Do you remember our trip to Cambodia with the kids, and Dmitry wanted so bad to go cliff diving because he saw you doing it." He chuckled deeply, and looked up at me. "He was scared shitless when he got up there." I tilted my head. "I don't see that fearing little boy anymore. I see you in him, and I don't know if that should worry me or if I should be proud that he's fearless." He sat up, and looked at me. "You shouldn't worry. He's grown up to be a very powerful Capo. Those other two though, I question whose children those are really?" I full blown laughed. He stroked my cheek. "I missed that laugh of yours." I leaned forward and placed my lips against his. "Dad, I need you to-----ugh fuck the horror!" Kaiden shielded his eyes. I laughed, and stood from the bed. I walked over to him, and snatched his ear. "Watch your mouth Matteo." He winced and ran out of the room. "You're worse then than Nonna!" Greyson chuckled and stood.

I smiled and shook my head. I definitely missed my family. My smile disappeared when I started thinking about how long I've been away from them. "Where'd you go cara mia?" Unshed tears built up in my eyes. Greyson cupped my cheeks. "What's going through that pretty little head of yours my love?" I placed my hands on his. "12 years... 12 years I've been held captive. 12 years I've been away from my family. I missed Gaia's first everything. I-I." Tears streamed down my face. Greyson pulled me closer to him. "I know mia moglie, and soon we will kill every single person that had to do with your abduction. I swear on my life."

He kissed the top of my head, and hugged me close. "I'm not ever losing you again Alaina." I held onto him tightly. This war isn't over.

It had just barely begun.
