I stared out of te window while we were driving past small identical houses in wide streets. I glanced aside and find a smirk on Bones face. ''What?''

He shrugged his shoulders. ''Never expected you'd go out with me.''

''Me neither,'' I mumbled. I didn't want to tell him that the urge to be with him was the main reason I got into the car.

He turned the steering wheel and we drove into a parking lot. A large football field was packed with cars and pick-up trucks. A wide screen was playing an old Disney cartoon while we and a bunch of other cars were driving in a straight line towards the entrance.

''So, this is why you needed a car?'' I threw him a vague smile.

''My dad would kill you for calling his truck a car,'' he said scornfully.

Two boys were standing next to the gate, collecting the entrée fees. Bones pulled up and stopped at their sign.

''Two tickets.''

The boy looked past him. ''You're eighteen, right?''

I held up my card. ''Sure.'' My hand was trembling.

Shit.

I was lying and I could get caught. Adrenaline rushed through my veins.

Bones pulled up the corner of his mouth, his hand travelled to my thigh as if he wanted to calm me down, not knowing that his touch was actually doing the opposite.

''Ten dollars,'' the boy said. He grabbed the money out of Bones' hand.

Finally, Bones let go of my thigh to take the tickets from the boy. He gave me one. ''The prove of your deceive,'' he said with a grin.

''Now I'm a criminal.'' I shook my head.

''Criminal,'' he repeated and laughed. ''Actually hodgepodge, I think you're not capable of doing anything illegal at all.''

Still laughing he slowly drove towards a spot where a girl was pointing at. When we stood still, Bones swiped his phone until he found the right app for the audio. He placed the phone on the dashboard and lowered the sound so we could talk.

''You like Stephen King?''

''The books? I read some.''

''Pet cemetery is playing tonight.'' He nodded to the front.

''Quite scary, isn't it?'' I loved King's books, but did not know if I could actually watch the visualization of the horror in those stories.

''Nah, not really.'' Bones reached to the back and pulled out a beer from the bag behind his seat. ''Beer?'' he asked.

''I don't drink.'' It sounded so childish to confess I was not allowed the drink and although he would argue that I actually was allowed, as the card showed I was nineteen, it did not feel right to do so.

''Coke?''

''Sure.'' I was glad he did not try to persuade me.

''You mind if I drink?''

I shook my head. ''You won't get drunk, will you? I mean, you still have to bring me back.''

''Relax, hodgepodge.'' He winked at me and took a sip. ''I will only one beer. I can't afford to be pulled over drunk.''

The movie started. Bones turned up the volume and shuffled a little closer. Instantly my cheeks flamed up, but luckily, he did not put an arm around my shoulders or laid his hand on my thigh. I would have been in panic the whole damn movie. The first part was quite scary and most of the time I hold my hands before my face and tried to look at it between my fingers.

''Why are you watching with your hands before your eyes?'' Bones asked when finally, there was a break.

''It isn't as scary,'' I said suddenly embarrassed. ''It doesn't seem so real when there is something between my eyes and the movie, like a firewall against the evil, something like that.'' I was babbling absolute nonsense, but his pouring eyes, the way he smiled, it made my brain short circuit.

''You call that scary?'' his eyes were bright with glee. Slowly he came closer. ''If you're that scared, why don't you hold my hand or curl up to me?'' His voice soft and seductively.

I shrugged nervously, the intensive look in his eyes made me gasp for air. When he touched my arm with his thumb the electricity flashed back again. I bit my lower lip.

A big bang and I shot back reflexively. Someone slammed the side of the truck. ''Yo, Bones!''  A soft scream escaped my lips.

Bones cursed through his clenched teeth and turned to the blonde guy standing next to passengers side with a big smirk covering his face.

''I didn't know you were coming too.'' The dude looked past him and stared at me. ''Nice catch, man. Hello, I'm Harrold.'' His eyes widened as he ranked my body. Trying to reach his hand out to me, he brought his head and upper body through the opening of the door, but Bones slammed him back before I could shake his hand. The guy bounced his head against the side on the way out.

''What are you doing here, Booze?''

''Fuck you, Bones, I was just being nice.'' Harrold rubbed the back of his head while shaking it.

''Get lost.''

''I just wanted to check if you received the dare, man. Jesus, you can be such an asshole.''

''Fuck.'' Bones yanked his phone from the dashboard and swiped the screen. ''Fuck, fuck, fuck.''

''You'll never pull that off before midnight.'' Harrold's eyes shifted to me. ''How could you forget?'' indicating that I could be the reason why, although I had no idea what they were talking about.

Bones kept staring at the screen, mumbling some vicious words.

''A hundred bucks, man. You've lost it. And now you'll become runner up in the total ranking.'' He slammed to truck again. ''You're such an idiot.''

''Get your hands of my fucking car.'' Bones warned him. The scorn in his voice was dark and mean.

Harrold shook his head in disbelieve. ''You were so close, man, so damn close.''

It was kind of irritating how he kept calling Bones man as if he was some kind of stupid idiot. Luckily, Harrold started walking away, while still shaking his head and looking over his shoulders with a deep frown until he disappeared between the parked cars. I didn't like him at all.

''You're okay?'' I dared to ask, but shot back when Bones started slamming the steering wheel.

''I'm such an fucking idiot!''
