Mason wiped some blood from his nose and then slowly turned towards me as I held a hand over my mouth.

"I'm sorry! I thought you'd block it." I said, taking a step back when he glared at me, afraid that he'd try to get me back.

"I told you not to start until I'm done explaining what we are doing today." He replied and I stayed silent, not remembering when he said that since I'd been zoning off a few times while he was talking.

"I'm sorry." I repeated and he sent me another glare before walking off towards the bathroom in the gym to clean off the blood.

I thought we were starting our training since he held his fists up, so I punched him, but it turns out he was only trying to show me an example of our training today.

Oops.

"Hey!" I turned around to see Mackenzie walking into the gym with a smile. I gave her a small smile back. "Are you working out alone?"

"Mason is actually training me." I responded and she nodded, still smiling.

"Mason isn't very fun to train with sometimes. He takes it so serious." She chuckled and I forced out a small laugh.

"He's not too bad. I've learned a lot from him, and we joke around a lot of the time." I admitted, smiling as I remembered all the times Mason would help bring me out of a bad mood with his awful jokes when I couldn't do something right.

"That's nice." Mackenzie muttered and I nodded. "Well, the girls and I are planning on going to the mall later. Want to join us?"

"I'm not sure if I'll be able to." I sighed.

The bathroom door opened and we turned to it as Mason stepped out. He walked towards me and raised an eyebrow when he saw Mackenzie.

"What are you doing here?" He asked her while stopping to stand beside me.

"Talking to Ayla." She replied and turned back towards me. "Think about it and let me know your answer when you're finished, alright?"

"Okay." I responded even though I know the answer will be 'no' because Cole doesn't trust me to go out without him since I've tried running away many times before.

It's not like I'm trying to run away anymore. I have nowhere to go and things aren't so bad here; it could've been worse.

Mackenzie left the gym and I turned back to Mason. He's standing a little further away from me than before.

"I won't punch you again." I said, but he only crossed his arms and sent me a small glare.

"Better safe than sorry." He muttered and I bit my lip to hold myself back from laughing.

*********************************************

"Please."

"I can't."

"Ayla, come on! We'll try to convince him."

"You know that he'll never let me go."

Lela glared at me and I stared back at her. She groaned in frustration and grabbed my hand, yanking me up from the bed. I stumbled and almost fell as she dragged me out of the room with her.

"You're hard to deal with. Worse than Mason, and that's saying a lot." Lela grumbled as she led me towards Cole's bedroom and I stifled a chuckle.

Without knocking, she opened the door and marched right in, pulling me with her.

Mackenzie is in the room and was speaking with Cole, but stopped when she saw Lela and I.

"Sorry to interrupt," Lela said, not seeming sorry at all, "but I'm just letting you know that we're going to the mall and taking Ayla with us."
