All I Ask For

Reassurance
Is all I ask for
Patience,
I have it but it's killing me

I want to know,
If I will get my happily ever after
If I will get my dream to
Come true

I know I lost the,
Best thing I never had
You have no idea
How much it hurts

The tears, the sadness
The sleepless nights
The times I keep doubting
If I should tell you,
Or if I should hold my silence

I want my happily ever after
I want to be reassured that
I will get it, in the next ten years

Walking down the aisle,
In an ethnic red and gold attire
Smiling as the tillhari is placed
Across me, by you

Laughing I know,
Marrying a man in the military
Is the best decision I ever made
I'd give up my pearls to get your dogtags
You'd love me endlessly
Just like how you love the nation
You're serving

But now,
I wait patiently for my happily ever after
Not knowing if it's going to be there
Not knowing if it's going to go
According to what I plan

I hope it does,
I really hope so

This time, I hope I find someone
Who can make me smile, laugh
Who's approved by those around me
Who's willing to stay up late to talk to me
Who'll make me feel loved, safe

I really hope I do.
When I do,
I hope I marry the right person,
At the right time
For the right reason
With Heaven's permission
