She was the Sun, He was the Moon

Look up at the sky, what do you see?
I see the Sun rising, what about you?
I see the Moon shining.

Oh.

Miles apart, yet for some reason
Why does she feel so safe with you?
You give her this protection,
This reassurance that everything is going to be okay.

But, she doesn't tell you a word.
She doesn't want to live on false hopes
Neither does she want you to have this new impression of her.
All she wants is for a Friend to listen to.

Missing you gets easier for her.
She's one day away further from the last time she saw you
She's also one day closer to the next time she will see you.

Both of you are worlds apart.
But for some reason, a simple call
A simple picture,
A smile and a chuckle
Brings you both closer with each passing minute

But there's no future,
You're such different people,
Doing such different things
Yet, you try to make time for each other.

You make her smile so bright
That even the stars would be jealous

She was the day, he was the night
She lived for the misty mornings,
He lived for the spontaneous nights
She was the sun and he was the moon
They were such opposite souls
Yet one waited impatiently for the other
For the rare days
When they might,
Coexist perfectly

One day, she got a call:

I have a surprise for you,
Turn around.
