I smiled to myself at the mention of my name.

"The ironic part Stacy, is that the two are now united again for their new blockbuster coming out next Valentine's Day, Forever Love, where the two once lovers will be acting out being lovers. Talk about awkward." Steve Hellins laughed his obnoxious reporter laugh.

"I so agree Steve. I cannot even imagine being paired up with one of my ex boyfriends for something as big as that. I wonder what the director was thinking when he casted them together."

"I'm betting that this whole thing is going to make things a lot more difficult for the two. They'll definitely come out hating each other a lot more than they probably already do." They shared a hearty laugh as it flipped to the weather section of the news.

I clicked off the TV and chucked the remote across the room in anger. People always seemed to have their own perception of everything in life, even when they know nothing about it. Those reporters pissed me off so much.

I'll show them, and everyone else that this will not end in turmoil. Laney and I will once again be a couple; No matter what it takes.

(Delaney's POV)

I pulled into our driveway and cut the engine, not making a move to get up. Tasia and Mia got out immediately and started walking towards the house. Mia noticed I wasn't coming and stuck her head through the window.

"You coming?" She asked gently.

"I'll be in just a minute." I said and nodded my head.

She smiled gently and followed Tasia into the house. I laid my head back against the headrest and sighed as loudly as I could. Today was no doubt one of the most confusing days of my life.

I rolled my head over to the side and groaned loudly. Christian's car was parked in the driveway. Perfect. Just what I needed right now.

I reluctantly got up out of my seat and trudged to the front door. I took a deep breath and put on a fake smile before going in.

He wasn't waiting at the front door as I had suspected. I heard laughter coming from the kitchen and I followed the noise. Victoria and Christian were sitting down at the island across from one another, having a glass of wine.

"Laney your home! I'll leave you two be." Victoria wiggled her eyebrows at me as she took her glass upstairs with her.

"Hey babe. How was filming?" he asked as he came up and kissed me, his lips tasting of sweet liquor.

"It was, uh, pretty good. I had one of y kissing scenes today." I made it seem like it grossed me out, when in reality it was the best kiss I've ever experienced.

"Sounds like so much fun." he pretend mocked. I gently hit his shoulder and he caught my hand in his.

He glanced down at the jewelry adorning my hand and frowned. He seemed to be examining the ring on my finger very intently.

"Where's you get that again?" he asked as he gently moved the ring around my finger.

"From my parents.. it's my purity ring. I've told you this before." I laughed uncomfortably.

"Well then, would you care to explain this tweet that I came across this afternoon?"

I worriedly grabbed his phone and looked at the picture displayed in front of me. It was Nash and I at the Grove a couple weeks ago. We were laughing about something and we were nearly connected at the hip. The caption read,

"@nashsbae: SHIT LOOK HOW THEYRE LOOKING AT EACH OTHER! Plus isn't that the promise ring he gave her on her finger?! 😩 #DashForever 🙌💗"

I stared at it wide eyed and felt my breath hitch in my throat. I heard him set down his glass and then get closer to me.

"Care to explain that?" he said from right behind me.

"I-I don't know-"

"Just tell me the damn truth Delaney!" he yelled as he turned me around to look at him. His face was inches from mine. His expression had my shaking in fear.

"Is that ring on your finger from Nash?" he asked slowly.

I hung my head low and felt the tears start to fall down my face. He gripped my arm tight and jolted me, making me look at him.

"Answer me!" he yelled in my face.

"Yes.." I said quietly.

"Dammit Laney!" he shouted as he threw me to the side a bit. "I trusted you! You've been lying to me this whole damn time about this! Why the hell do you still wear it?"

He looked like he was about to cry and I felt horrible. He came over and pinned me against the counter and put his body straight up against mine.

"Were you hoping he was gonna come back for you someday? Did ya think he'd see you kept that and stop banging ten different girls a week so that he could be yours exclusively? Think again princess. I can't believe you.."

He leaned in like he was about to kiss me and then quickly retracted. An evil glare spread across his face as he grabbed his keys and hastily left the house.

I stood there in shock, not knowing what to do. I'd never been scared of Chris, but right now, I was terrified. He's never been like this towards me.

I felt so stupid for wearing this little piece of silver and diamond while I was dating him, but at the same time, I'm so glad I did. Especially now that I know that Nash didn't do what it thought he did.

"Laney?" I heard Mia's voice call.

I quietly sniffed as fresh tears threatened to fall down my cheeks, intruding my vision.

She walked down the stairs and saw me slowly slide down the side of the counter. She came rushing to my side.

"I heard yelling. Are you okay?" I just shook my head and started crying. She came and wrapped her small arms around me.

"What happened?" she asked.

"He found out that this ring I always wear.. is my promise ring from Nash." I sniffled.

"Oh Laney.." she said quietly. "Everything will be okay."

"I doubt it. He was so angry. And he scared me so much. He's never acted like that towards me before."

"Maybe it's for the better..?"she questioned. I shrugged and pulled my knees up to my chin.

"Well.. I'm going out to dinner with Trent tonight, but I can stay home if you need me."

"Oh no, of course not. Go have fun. I'll be fine." She smiled and rubbed my back one more time before standing up and walking towards the front door.

"I'll see ya tomorrow." she called. I nodded and waved to her.

The house seemed silent, even though there were 3 other girls somewhere through out it. I sighed and got up off the floor.

I really didn't want to talk to any of them right now, but I also didn't want to be alone.

I quickly got out my phone and pulled up a contact that's had a feeling I'd be using a lot more often now.

It rang a few times before they answered.

"Hello?" his raspy voice asked.

"Will you come pick me up?"

"What?" he sounded surprised.

"Will you come pick me up? I need to get out of here and get my mind off of things."

"Umm yea sure. I'll be there in like half an hour."

"Thanks Nash.. you're the best."

So umm.... this is probably the crappiest chapter I've ever written and I apologize for that. I'm going to update again later this weekend and that's a promise.

Almost to 10k reads! Thanks guys. ☺️
