TWENTY SEVEN|MARLEY'S WAY

                           PT.TWO/MARLEY

"Did you enjoy the party baby, you haven't really said much since we left" Ron said glancing over at Marley who was silent for the first time ever.

She looked over to him and smiled, only nodding. She could admit that while at first she was in the holiday spirit, once Christmas rolled around she was in the dumps. First off, because she missed her little brother back home and felt bad that she hadn't been there to wake him up on Christmas, because most likely her mom hadn't. She was so caught up in her own world that she never paid attention to ten year old Micah, and Marley had basically raised her little brother since birth. However after meeting Ron, she couldn't help but flee away from her stressful living situation, only to return back to her mom's a few days out of the week if that. Second, being around Ron's loving family only made her slightly envious. She really liked them and vice versa, and she couldn't help but wish her family was the same. Not only that, but Ron had only gifted her a gift card to Ulta. What kind of shit was that? She dug into the little savings that she had to get him a special gift, and he hadn't even put much thought into hers. She was grateful, but after seeing Armani's thoughtful gift from K-Dot she figured maybe Ron didn't like her as much as she thought he did.

"You think I can get a little Christmas love before we go to sleep?" Ron smirked as the two finally entered his apartment.

"I'm not really in the mood" Marley twisted her mouth as she walked towards the kitchen to put their leftovers away.

"You? Not in the mood. Girl quit playing" Ron chuckled. He began to take his shoes off and put down his gifts, and then dug into his pocket for his phone.

"Damn babe, I left my phone in the car you think you could go get it?" he asked, patting his pockets.

"Really? Ron, I'm tired" Marley sighed, and he gave her a desperate look, "Fine, give me your keys"

He smiled and handed them to her, and then quickly went to work as soon as she left out of the apartment. He rushed into his bedroom and began to set everything up, listening out for the door that would signal her arrival. Ron wasn't stupid, and knew Marley was pissed that he got her a fifty dollar gift card for the makeup store. While Ley liked makeup, he knew her sappy ass wanted something more meaningful and he wouldn't disappoint.
To Ron, Marley deserved the world and he would give her that piece by piece, his only mission to make her as happy as she made him.

He laughed sneakingly, as he picked up the present he knew she would go crazy for and put it in the box. Just in time, he heard the door shut and he quickly exited the bedroom with a towel.

"I'ma take a shower, you can just put it in the room" he shouted into the living room. He turned the shower water on, but didn't enter as he first wanted her to reaction.

"Alright" she responded.

A few seconds passed, and he listened intently as her footsteps went from the living room and pass the bathroom, and next into the bedroom.

Marley was so into her mind as she scrolled through her phone, that at first she hadn't even seen the surprise on the bed as she immediately headed into the walk in closet and took her shoes off. She put her hair into a ponytail, and began to look for night clothes until she heard a noise emerge from the bedroom. She poked her head out, and her eyes lit up at the plethora of gift bags and the big red box on the bed.

"I knew my man loved me" she smiled, completely relieved.

Seeing the box began to jump, she creased her brows, both curious and a little scared. Intrigued, she walked over and immediately removed the lid, only to be surprised by the blue nose baby Pit bull. It jumped up, and she immediately fell in love with its big blue eyes and grey fur.
