Old rugged boat where are you going?
I see you getting ready, prepared for a sailing
Don’t you remember or perhaps you’ve forgotten
Once you’re moored at this harbour
Old rugged boat still wants to go far?
Where are you taking this memory of mine?
Look around you’re not alone
Your past and your present is still held strong
Old rugged boat is sailing to the future
Taking so much love and great adventure
At me now you’re throwing a question
To sit and settle or relive imagination
Old rugged boat my soul’s not darkened
But my mind dives deep in wonder
You hold my dream and heart’s desire
So firmly attached altogether
Old rugged boat I’ll go with you
Across the ocean to some place new
I get it now, I understand why
I sail the sky, reaching for stars
