One of my favorite parts of researching for historical fiction is looking into the food and clothing of the time period. Not only because I love clothes and food, I feel like they really give you a sense of what it was like to live back them. This post is dedicated to chestnutia who is working on a Revolutionary War au. Here are some videos on the food and clothing of the time period which will give you a basic idea of what it was like to eat as a Revolutionary War soldier or dress for a ball as an 18th Century lady or gentleman.
Townsends YouTube channel is a great resource for research into 18th Century life.
