innocent minds and happy little eyes.
siblings joking and playing,
and parents loving and laughing.

i believe in a choice to your own body,
and black children feeling safe and carefree.
a mind greater than the statistics they place,
and a belief that respect should not only be given but received.

i believe in space and other life,
green grass and beautiful bouquets.
the sun and the cool wind,
aching smiles and hot burning tears.

i believe in the individual,
big or small,
troubled or carefree,
rowdy or otherwise.
