Another day at my office and as usual, it's very busy. May hinahabol kasi kaming deadline and we are all thirsty to get that million dollar deal from an international company that's why I'm already stressed out.
"Sir excuse me po pero hindi pa po ba kayo kakain?"
When my secretary asked me, I looked at my wrist watch to check what time is it and it's already three in the afternoon. I leaned back for awhile on my swivel chair and massage the bridge of my nose. I'm tired already.
"Just call at the nearest cafe. Bilhin mo lang yung usual na inoorder ko."
I instructed my secretary and she went out right away after getting my orders. I grabbed my phone and check my accounts. As usual, nothing new.
I continued with my work and more papers came in inside my office. I signed some of them and yung iba naman kailangan ko bang basahin bago ko pirmahan.
After almost an hour, I heard a knock from my door and I gave signal to just come inside. I was busy replying to an email when I already smell my coffee.
"Hi Sir good afternoon po. Here's what you order Sir."
Nung umangat yung tingin ko, a familiar face with a familiar uniform and name plate welcomed me with a smile. Nung nagtama na yung paningin namin ay biglang nawala yung ngiti niya.
"What a very good delivery at talagang literal na door to door. Ano pa ba ang hindi mo kayang gawin?"
Umirap yung babae na nakasagutan noong isang araw sa coffee shop dahilan kaya napatawa ako. She's really fun to annoy.
"Di ko kayang tumambling at lumipad tsaka di ko kaya maging mayaman. Here's your order Sir. Enjoy your meal at sana mabilaukan ka."
"Anong sinabi mo?" I asked her kahit na narinig ko naman yung huling sinabi niya.
"Wala Sir sabi ko enjoy. Sige Sir alis na ako."
Lalabas na sana siya but I immediately pressed the lock botton near my table to stop her from going out of my office. Nagtaka siya kung bakit kahit anong pilit niyang buksan yung pinto ay ayaw pa rin.
"Sir excuse me lang po pero pwedeng pabukas nung pinto ninyo? May trabaho pa po kasi ako eh at ayokong masisante."
Tumayo ako sa upuan ko at sumandal sa mesa. I smiled at her but her face remained the same.
"Baka nilock nung Secretary ko sa labas. Just stay here for awhile."
"Sir, hindi po ako nakikipagbiruan sa inyo. Kailangan ko na pong bumalik kasi yung trabaho ko naghihintay na sa akin."
"If you'll be fired at your work then you can apply here. Executive Assistant maybe?" Biro ko sa kanya.
"Kung sa inyo lang po ako magtatrabaho, pipiliin ko nalang maging tambay Sir."
I laughed with what she said. Loko din 'tong babaeng 'to ha. Masyadong maraming alam.
"Ganyan mo na ba ako kaayaw? Tatanggihan mo yung malaking sweldo just because you don't like me? I guess it's time to eat up your pride."
Hindi siya sumagot at tumalikod ulit sa akin. Pilit niya talagang binubuksan yung pinto hanggang sa may narinig akong malakas na katok mula sa labas. My intercom rang and I answered it right away.
"Sir sorry po pero yung baliw niyo pong ex sumugod na naman po."
I muttered a curse at binaba ko na yung tawag. Pinindot ko na yung buton para bumukas ang pinto at tama nga yung sinabi ng sekretarya ko na nasa labas nga yung ex ko.
