What's all the Commotion?

Lisa was sound asleep in her bed when all of a sudden she heard a loud commotion outside her window. She woke up with a start and ran out into the hall. Her sister, Mary, had also entered the hall looking sleepy and confused. Lisa asked what was going on.

Mary yelled, "hurry you'll miss it!" Lisa ran as fast as she could only in time to see a giant bear on a leash!

"What in the world is THAT!" Lisa yelled and Mary laughed. Shan was holding the bear.

"It's a giant dog, obviously," Shan said. Lisa honestly couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or serious. Once he actually thought a raccoon was a cat.

"Do you mind telling us where you found it?" Lisa asked as Mary continued laughing.

"That's for me to know and you to not," Shan said.

"Pretty... Pretty sure that's not how the saying goes..." Mary replied as she finally calmed down.

"Who cares how the saying is supposed to go?" Shan yelled, loosening his grip on the leash. "All I care about is if I can beat my new giant dog in a race."

"In the middle of the night?" Lisa questioned.

"Of course! There's no better time than when it's pitch black."

"I can't see anything at all. I don't even think we should be doing this, it's again the middle of the night and it's dark outside." So we all followed each other to the door to put on jackets because it could be a little chilly outside. I didn't need  to get sick, that would be devastating. I was hesitant at first, but my lack of sleep muddled my sense of well-being, so I went with them.

We entered a moon-lit clearing. Shan guided his 'giant dog' to position and let go. As he turned to go to his spot, the creature lunged at him, teeth bared. I fainted.

Screams pierced the night air as the bear attacked my brother. It was sad, but that's what happened. Luckily, my brother didn't die. The bear didn't eat all of him for some reason, just his right arm. My brother seems ok, but he is a little more weird than usual, and once a month he disappears for a night and the news the next day is full of one-armed bear attacks.
