The chandelier overhead nods in agreement

As I sing our song. The crowd is pleased with my simple soprano.

They turn their heads and wink at me, clinking glasses.

Ooh, is it so hard to pick up the phone,  baby?

I know you hate me. I'm annoying. But babe, so are you.

My friend Giovanni at the piano, playing as if he's gon' die.

Ooh, my baby! Is it so hard to pick up the phone, yeah?

The crowd is pleased with my simple soprano.

I'll be melting in a hot Epsom bath. Wishing you were here with me.

Is it so hard to pick up the phone, sitting in Italy?
