A compare and contrast essay is a document in which the differences and/or similarities of two or more entities are discussed. Select one of the topics below in order to construct a compare and contrast essay. Be mindful of your structure as you write (point by point or subject by subject), thesis statement, your purpose (to inform or persuade) and your basis of comparison. Should you choose the point by point structure your essay should have a minimum of five paragraphs. Should you choose the subject by subject structure you must have a minimum of four paragraphs. The essay must be 3-5 double spaced pages in total.
