Chapter 26

I wake up with the sun shining through the sheer curtains. The clock read 11:00 am we were going to meet my family at my grandparents house at 12:00 for brunch so we needed to get up

"Babe we need to get up" I say to the sleeping boy

"Good morning" he says in a raspy voice

"Good morning lova" I say and he laughs

"Are you excited for today?" Sam asks me

"Hell yeah, I haven't seen my family for 8 months" I answer, smiling "I'm going to get ready"

I put on some white skinny jeans and a floral tank. I matched it with some silver sandals. I out my hair in a messy fishtail braid and applied my makeup.

"Lets goooo" sam says grabbing my hand. We get to the car and head for my grandparents house

"You look nice today" I say to Sammy. He was wearing a black tshirt and tan khaki pants

"Thanks, but I think you look better" he says, placing a hand on my thigh like he does every car ride

"I second that" I say jokingly, flipping my hair

We sit in a comfortable silence with the faint sound of music playing in the back round for the rest of the ride. We get to my grandparents house and so many good memories come flooding back, I missed this place.

"Ready?" I ask Sam and he nods, grabbing my hand and leading me to the door. I knock a few times and about 5 seconds later my grandma opens up the door

"Emma!" she yells and I hug her tightly

"I missed you grandma" I say, still hugging her

"Let's go inside" she says. We walk to the kitchen where's there is lots of food laid out.

"You must be Sam" my grandma says smiling

"Yes mam, nice to meet you mrs.hartman" he says politely and I smile at him

"Grandpa!" I yell hugging him tightly

"Oh Emma I missed you so much" he says, still hugging me

"And you're sam right, Emma talks a whole lot about you" he says to sam

"Nice to meet you sir" he says shaking his hand

"Firm grip." My grandpa points out, that's a good sign right? Sam goes outside to help my grandpa finish barbecuing and 'have a talk' as my grandpa would say. The rest of the family will be here in like 20 minutes

"So how's Omaha treating you?" my grandma asked as I helped here slice some veggies

"It's amazing" I say smiling

"And Sam?" she says wiggling her eyebrows, making me laugh

"Don't even get me started on Sam, he's one of the best things that happened to me" I say smiling "I'm in love "

"I'm so happy for you Emma. You've turned into such am amazing person, I couldn't be prouder" she says, a few tears slipping out of both of our eyes

"I love you grandma" I say smiling and turning back to the vegetables I was cutting. I look through the patio doors and see my grandpa and Sam standing there laughing together and I smiled to myself.

"Hey" Sam says hugging me from behind a few minutes later

"Hey baby" I say turning around "how'd it go?" I ask

"Great actually, I think he really likes me" he says and I smile

"I love youuuu" I say and peck him on the lips

"I love you too" he says back. I hear the door open and my aunts, uncles, and cousins come flooding in

"Emma!" my aunt says and I hug her

"I missed you" I say pulling away from the hug. It pretty much went like that for everyone else

"And who's this?" my aunt Becky asks

"This is my boyfriend Sam, Sam this is my aunt Becky" I introduce them

"Nice to meet you" he says smiling. He gets introduced to everyone else and we go sit down for lunch.

"So Sam what are you interested in doing?" my aunt asks

"I actually really enjoy making music, It's been tough and I've worked my butt off, but it's been very successful so far" he tells her

"Good for you, Sam" she says smiling. We finish up our lunch, small conversations filling the room. Most of the adults went to clean up the kitchen but me sam and my cousins stayed behind since they insisted they didn't need help.

I felt a hand land on my thigh, a little too high up, that wasn't sams. I looked over to see my creepy cousin Will with a smirk on his face. He's always creeped me out, i don't know he's just...strange

"F off Will" I snap and pour my glass of water on him

"Sorry babe, you know you liked it" he says, getting oddly close to me

"What the hell your my cousin" I say In disgust

"Woah dude not cool" Sam says pushing him back in his chair

"Thanks" I say and lead him into the family room

"Well that was weird" I say

"Yeah.." he says and we both burst out laughing

"Emma!" I hear from a little girls voice

"Hey Ava" I say smiling "you've gotten so big since the last time I saw you" I say picking her up

"Yeah! I've grown 4 inches mommy said" she says holding up four fingers

"Who's this?" she asks, talking about Sam

"That's Sam, my boyfriend" I say

"Nice to meet you Ava" he says smiling at the little girl

"Do you guys kiss?" She asks and I laugh

"Yeah, sometimes" Sam answers laughing

"Ewwwww" she says which makes us both laugh even more

We played with Ava for awhile until it started to get late so we decided to head back to the hotel. I said my goodbyes to everyone and we left.

"I had lots of fun today" Sam says, we were having a cuddle session, just chilling. My head laid on his chest as he played with my hair

"Me too" I say smiling. It really was a great time

"My favorite part was probably when you dumped your water on that will kid" he says laughing

"Definitely, iconic." I say laughing with him

"I love you more than you will ever know Emma" he whispers, getting more serious

"I love you more than you will ever know Sammy"
