Then she saw her.
Gretel Harding.
They were 10.
"Hi, I'm Fran".
"Hi, I'm Gretel" Gretel said.
"Do you like girls?" Fran asked.
"Yes, but it's forbidden" Gretel answered.
Then Fran kissed her full on the mouth.
And, then, they were friends forever...and then they were kicked out of school.
But, for the brief, romantic moment, their love was fused together-forever.

The memories filled her head.
Then, as Fran walked ahead, she was now in The Safety Zone (TSZ); she was now in the only Zone where she was safe from the abuse.
But it wasn't the memory of her abusive Dad, or her do-nothing Mom, that filled her mind; it was the memory of something else:
It was the memory of seeing her first Zombie.
And, when that happened, her World changed for the worse...not for the better.
